Section A

Rules Applicable to all FIS Snowboard / Freestyle Ski / Freeski Continental Cups

Section A defines the FIS Continental Cup Rules that are common to all FIS Continental Cups worldwide.

1. General

All events in the FIS Continental Cup Series will be conducted under the rules and regulations of the International Ski Federation (ICR and CoC: Section A) and the respective Cup Series (Section B).

1.1 Organisation

1.1.1 Jury

For Continental Cup Competitions the composition of the Jury shall follow the ICR (Rule 2007).

2. Qualification

Qualification Standards The qualification standards and quotas will be established before each season, after approval of the FIS Snowboard / Freestyle Ski / Freeski Committee. They cannot be modified during the season.

2.1 Quota

See regulations in each section.

2.2 Applications for Entry

2.2.1 Entry Deadlines

The deadline for receipt of entries by the Organiser shall be ten (10) days (for NAC, thirty days (30) for Entry by Number and fourteen days (14) for Entry by Name) before the first official training day for the Event to which entry is sought. This deadline may, at the Organiser’s discretion, be later but not earlier, provided that this change has been announced in the official Invitation to the competition. (See ICR 215).

2.3 Titles

The following CoC Titles (SAC/AC/ANC/NAC/EC) will be awarded on each Continent - Parallel (PSL+PGS) - HP (SKI) - HP (SB) - SX - SBX - BA/SS (SKI) - BA/SS (SB) - AE - MO/DM

A minimum of 3 events for EC and NAC and a minimum of 2 events for SAC, AC and ANC per category and gender must take place to establish a title. The Series Title Trophies and awards shall be presented at the final competition of the season.

3. Calendar and Planning

The respective FIS Continental Cup Series are organised each year according to the evaluation period as defined in the rules of the FIS Points. Southern Hemisphere: 1st July 1 – 15th October, Northern Hemisphere: 1st October – 30th April. Cancelled FIS Continental Cup competitions may not be re-scheduled after the respective FIS Continental Cup Final. A CoC competition shall only be valid for a single CoC Series. Russian competitors will not be considered AC members eligible for Personal Quota Spots in World Cup if they finish in qualifying positions

3.1 Snow Control

If there is not enough snow on the course(s) or sites selected for the competition, the Organiser must cancel the competition(s). Cancellation deadlines are defined for each Event:

Europa Cup: 10 days before the first Team Captains’ Meeting NORAM Cup: 14 days before the first Team Captains’ Meeting South American Cup: 10 days before the first Team Captains’ Meeting Asia Cup: 10 days before the first Team Captains’ Meeting Australia New Zealand Cup: 10 days before the first Team Captains’ Meeting

In special cases, an expert can be nominated by FIS as a snow controller.

3.2 The Addition of another Competition

The Organiser of a FIS Continental Cup competition is not allowed to add any further FIS competitions to its programme, if this event has not already been included in the FIS Calendar. Under no circumstances may an additional competition disrupt the respective FIS Continental Cup programme.

3.3 Substitution of a Competition

3.3.1 Cancellation due to “Force Majeure”

If a competition has to be cancelled due to "force majeure”, a replacement competition in the same event may be organised in another location. Such a change has to be approved by FIS. A replacement competition may never interfere with the organisation of another competition which is already scheduled in the respective FIS Continental Cup Calendar.

3.3.2 Replacement

Any replacement Competition must be announced with the following periods of notice (prior to the first training or competition day): - for Europa Cup 10 days - for NORAM Cup 14 days - for South American Cup 10 days - for Asia Cup 10 days - for Australia New Zealand Cup 10 days

3.3.2.1 Notices for any replacement Competition should contain all necessary information (refer to Rules 213 and 2002.3) and be posted on the FIS Website

3.3.3 In another Country

In case a replacement competition has to be moved to another country, the new Organiser (National Association) is entitled to the additional host participation quota.

4. Invitations and Programme

The invitation and provisional programme shall be published and circulated at least 2 months in advance of the competition. The OC shall inform the FIS Office if due to the weather conditions or lack of snow, the programme has to be changed.

5. Awards and Ceremonies

The OC shall provide appropriate awards for the first, second, and third place finishers in each event. The awards ceremony for each Event shall be conducted either immediately following each competition or at a prearranged awards function.

6. Television

Any television other than immediate local TV coverage or news coverage must be co-ordinated with the host National Ski Association.

7. Point – Breakdown

The point breakdown is a scale, providing a maximum possible score of 100 points in any event. Individual Regional Cups may define higher maximum points, like EC Premium Competitions that award double points.

Section B

Rules Specific to European Cup (EC)

EC 1 Common Rules

EC 1.1 FIS Officials

At each competition there will be the following FIS Officials: - FIS Continental Cup Coordinator - FIS Technical Delegate - FIS Course Advisor (SX - optional based upon CoC Coordinator decision) - FIS Head Judge / Referee - FIS Judges (3 for AE, 5 for MO/DM, 3 or 6 in case of double up Judging for

SS, BA and HP)

EC 1.1.2 FIS Continental Cup Coordinator

The FIS Continental Cup Coordinator will act, in conjunction with the Technical Delegate and the OC, in a supervisory capacity as an additional FIS Technical Expert overseeing the technical preparations, safety and as an adviser to the OC.

EC 1.1.3 Expenses for the FIS Technical Advisor/Coordinator and FIS Officials

Payment of expenses to FIS Officials refer ICR 2006.2 & 2006.4. Payment of TD expenses refer to TD ICR 2008.7. Payment of Judge expenses refer to 3311.11 (P&P), 4003.4 (AE), 4202.4 (MO)

and 4302.4 (DM).

EC 1.2 Transport, Passes and Priority

The OC shall provide all team staff members (subject to the permitted team officials ratio - see EC event sections) and officials with free lift passes and priority on lifts serving competition runs during official training and competition days. Reserved parking shall also be made available close to the competition area. The lift pass prices for competitors are defined below in each event section together with the entry fees. If there are Teams with more Team Officials the extra officials can get lift tickets and accommodation according to the regulations for the competitor’s.

EC 1.3 Team Officials Ratio to Team Size

Team size: 1-3 competitors 3 team officials 4-8 competitors 5 team officials 9 or more 6 team officials

EC 1.4 Accommodation

Freestyle Ski / Freeski: It is recommended that the OC provides accommodation through its Tourist Office, in different categories at a reasonable price level each.

Snowboard: For SBX, PSL and PGS the maximum amount for athletes and officials for half board is CHF 80 according to the official currency of the hosting nation per day. Teams or persons who register after the communicated deadline in the Invitation, have no right for the reservation or the guarantee of the above mentioned price. For HP, SS and BA there is no limitation. The organiser needs to offer a package price for accommodation, which is lower than the standard season price in the organising resort.

EC 1.4.1 Duration of Accommodation

Lodging and food must be guaranteed from the night before the first official training/competition day to (and including) the morning after the last competition day.

EC 1.4.2 Food and Beverages

Food must be healthy and plentiful and must correspond to the needs of highly

competitive athletes.

EC 1.4.3 Mealtimes

The hotel must adapt itself to the needs of the schedule, which depend on the training and competition programme. In most cases the breakfast is to be served very early in the morning. The Organiser should inform the hotel management of the agreement with regard to accommodation and food and of the daily programme, including any changes.

EC 1.5 Ski / Snowboard Rooms

The Organisers are responsible for making adequate ski/snowboard preparation and storage facilities available to all Nations. They must be heated, secure and well ventilated. This responsibility is met by provision of facilities per Nation. (Recommended ski/snowboard room size to accommodate material for 6-8 athletes and 1-2 service technicians).

EC 1.6 EC-Trophy and Medals

The winners of each Event (Big Air & Slopestyle combined) will receive an European Cup trophy. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranked competitors of each event will receive medals.

EC 2 Park & Pipe Section

EC 2.1 Entry Fees, Lift Pass

The Organising Committee is allowed to charge an entry fee of maximum CHF 50 for one competition and CHF 80 for 2 competitions - without lift pass. The lift pass prices shall be at maximum 60% of a standard adult day ticket at the hosting resort.

If they charge an entry fee, the amount and the payment procedure must be included in the official invitation.

EC 2.2 Quotas

EC 2.2.1 Halfpipe

There is no Quota or FIS/WSPL Point restriction for Half Pipe

EC 2.2.2 Slopestyle & Big Air

Each nation is entitled to a basic quota of 18 (max. 12 per gender). The Hosting nation is entitled to an additional quota per event 16 (max. 10 per gender)

For SS and BA the organiser has discretion to accept additional athletes above the quota. This has to be announced in the official invitation.

EC 2.2.3 FIS Points Requirement

The minimum requirement to participate in Slopestyle & Big Air European Cup Competitions is: Freeski: Minimum 10 FIS points in Slopestyle or Big Air Snowboard: Minimum 10 FIS points or 50 WSPL Points in Slopestyle or Big Air

EC 2.3 Prize Money

There is no mandatory prize money.

EC. 2.4 EC Trophy and Medals

For HP, a maximum of 4 best EC points results (from Europa Cup and Premium Europa Cup) are taken into consideration and will be added together to determine the HP EC Event Champion and ranking.

For SS and BA it is a combined ranking of both events. A maximum of the best 4 SS results and 2 BA results (from Europa Cup and Premium Europa Cup) are taken into consideration and will be added together to determine the SS/BA EC Event Champion and ranking.

EC 2.4.1 Premium Europa P&P

Selected P&P Events meeting the requirements defined in the “Guidelines for Organisers of Premium Europa Cup P&P Competitions” will be awarded double Europa Cup Points. i.e.: the winner is awarded 200 points…. the 4th Place 100 points, etc.

EC 2.4.2 Tie Breaking

In case of a tie for 1st place, the competitor with more 1st places in the Premium EC events will be placed 1st. If they are still tied the tie will be broken by the greater number of 1st places in the other EC events of the respective event categories. If they are still tied the same procedure will be used, inspecting 2nd, 3rd etc. places. If they are still tied they remain tied.

EC 3.1 Entry Fees

Entry Fees may be charged to a maximum of CHF 80 per competitor per event and CHF 20 per competitor per official training day.

EC 3.2 Quotas

The current quotas for Continental Cups (Europe) are as follows: European Countries: Moguls 15 women and 15 men Host Nation Quota + 8/8 extra Aerials 15 women and 15 men Host Nation Quota + 8/8 extra Non European Countries: 8 men and 8 women per nation

EC 3.2.2 FIS Points Requirement to participate in European Cup Competitions:

No minimum FIS points requirements

EC 3.4 Titles

All completed and valid Europa Cup Points results will count for the EC titles.

EC 3.4.1 Tie Breaking

In case of a tie, the competitor with more 1st places in the respective EC event will be placed 1st. If they are still tied the same procedure will be used, inspecting 2nd, 3rd etc. places. If they are still tied they remain tied.

EC 3.4.2 Nations Cup

Nations Cups will be awarded in Aerials and Moguls, calculated by adding the points of the top 2 male and top 2 female competitors of each nation in each Event (Aerials, Moguls) from each competition of the season.

EC 4 Cross Section

EC 4.1 Entry Fees

Entry Fees per competitor may be charged to a maximum of CHF 90 for 1 competition and CHF 150 for 2 competitions including free lift pass for training and all competition days. CHF 30 for lift pass per day for additional officials above the team ratio defined in rule EC 1.3.

EC 4.2 Quotas

The current quotas for European Cup are as follows: European Countries: - 20 competitors per team, max 12 per gender - Host Nation + 10 and max. 6 per gender extra

Non European Countries: - 10 per nation with maximum 6 per gender

The Continental Cup Coordinator has discretion to accept additional athletes above the quota on request of the Organiser.

EC 4.2.1 FIS Points Requirement to participate in European Cup Competitions

- Minimum 35 Ski Cross FIS points or max 150 Alpine Points in any Ski Alpine Event.

- A minimum of 15 SBX FIS points is required to start in a SBX Event.

EC 4.3 Prize Money

There is no mandatory prize money.

EC 4.4 EC Titles

All completed and valid Europa Cup Points results will count for the EC titles.

EC 4.4.1 Tie Breaking

In case of a tie, the competitor with more 1st places in the Ski/Snowboard Cross

EC will be placed 1st. If they are still tied the same procedure will be used,

inspecting 2nd, 3rd etc. places. If they are still tied they remain tied.

EC 4.4.2 Nations Cup Ski Cross

A Nations Cup will be awarded in Ski Cross, calculated by adding the points of the top 2 male and top 2 female competitors of each nation from each competition of the season.

In case of a tie, the nation with the highest number of first places is the winner. If still tied, the nation with the greatest number of highest places is the winner.

EC 5 Snowboard Alpine Section

The Organising Committee is allowed to charge an entry fee of maximum CHF 30 per official training and competition day – this must include lift pass.

EC 5.2 Quota

- Each European Nation is entitled to a basic quota of 20 (max. 12 per gender). - Hosting nation additional 20 with maximum 12 per gender - Non European Countries: 10 per nation with maximum 6 per gender

The Organiser has discretion to accept additional athletes above the quota. This has to be announced in the official invitation.

EC 5.3 Prize Money

There is no mandatory prize money.

EC 5.4 Titles

All completed and valid Europa Cup Points results will count for the EC titles.

EC 5.4.1 Tie Breaking

Common Rules

NAC 1 FIS Officials

NAC 1.1 Expenses for FIS Officials / Judges/TDs

Refer to NorAm Event Organiser Guidelines.

NAC 2 Technical Delegates

NAC 2.1 Appointment of Technical Delegates

The FIS North American Technical Delegate Working Group in conjunction with the appropriate national ski associations shall appoint the FIS Technical Delegate for NorAm Cup competitions. All NorAm Technical Delegates must be from visiting countries. Exceptions will be made if a Technical Delegate from a visiting country is not available. In this case, the Jury must have one (1) person from a visiting country as a voting member.

NAC 2.2 Arrival of Technical Delegates

The FIS Technical Delegate will arrive at the event site with sufficient time to be present on the field of play for inspection, prior to the first official training day.

NAC 3 Judges’ Panel

The NorAm Cup judges’ panel for moguls shall include a head judge and seven (7) scoring judges. For only an aerials competition, the judges’ panel may consist of five (5) scoring judges and a head judge. For halfpipe, slopestyle and big air competitions, the judges’ panel shall be a group of 4-9 qualified Judges plus a qualified Head Judge with the appropriate license for CoC level events.

The NorAm Committee must approve any exceptions to the rules for establishing a judges’ panel as outlined herein.

NAC 4 Titles

NAC 4.1 NorAm Event Champion

The NAC titles will be calculated as follows: Moguls / Dual Moguls and Aerials: - All valid NAC points results are taken into consideration and will be added

together to determine the NAC Event Champion. Ski Cross, Snowboard Cross, Snowboard Parallel Slalom/Parallel Giant Slalom: - A maximum of 6 best NAC points results are taken into consideration and will

be added together to determine the NAC Event Champion. Ski Halfpipe and Snowboard Halfpipe: - A maximum of 3 best NAC points results per event are taken into

consideration and will be added together to determine the NAC Event Champion.

Ski Slopestyle/Ski Big Air and Snowboard Slopestyle/Snowboard Big Air: A combined SS and BA NAC Event Champion will be determined based on the total number of SS valid competitions in a given season. - Up to 4 SS competitions total: best 3 results total (combined 2 SS +1 BA or 3 SS)

- 5 - 6 SS competitions total: best 4 results total

(combined 3 SS +1 BA or 4 SS)

- 7 + SS competitions total: best 5 results total

(combined 4 SS +1 BA or 5 SS

In case of a tie, the competitor with more 1st places in the respective NAC event* will be placed 1st. If they are still tied the same procedure will be used, inspecting 2nd, 3rd etc. places. If they are still tied they remain tied. *SS/BA are considered the same event

NAC 4.2 Trophies & Medals

The Winners of each of the 10 Events (Parallel, Ski Halfpipe, Snowboard Halfpipe, Ski Slopestyle/ Big Air, Snowboard Slopestyle/Big Air, Snowboard Cross, Ski Cross, Moguls/Dual Moguls and Aerials) will receive a North American Cup Trophy. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranked competitors of each event will receive medals.

NAC 4.3 NAC Finals

A best effort will be made to rotate NorAm Finals between the USA and CAN each year.

NAC 5 Prize Money

Prize Money will be awarded at each FIS NorAm Cup competition from the entry fees collected by each Organiser.

The total Prize Money available for each event will be determined by $ 10.00 in local currency multiplied by the total number of entries per event. Prize money is calculated for each event separately and the total prize money is split equally

between women and men. An organiser is permitted to award more prize money in excess of the formula.

Prize money is awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for women and men separately according to the following percentage of the total Prize Money per event: 1st place = 50% 2nd place = 30% 3rd place = 20% In the case were supplemental prize money is provided the OC is allowed to determine the breakdown of percentages of prize money in excess of the minimum dictated by the rule above. Prize Money is paid via cash, check or electronic transfer to the athletes and will be processed by the OC within 14 days of the competition provided all appropriate information is provided by the athlete.

NAC 6 Entry Fees

Entry fees will be reviewed before each NorAm season by the NorAm Committee and set for the season at the fall FIS meeting. The base maximum entry fee shall be $200.00 CAD per competition for each participant, or the equivalent in U.S. funds rounded to the nearest $5.00 as per the rate of exchange on September 1st of each year. Entry fees shall be paid in the currency of the host country. The base entry fee includes entry into one individual event. If a double event is held, athletes may be charged an entry fee of no more than $130.00 CAD for the second event. For example, staging both dual and single moguls events is equivalent to staging a double event in moguls and therefore the additional entry fee of $130 CAD is applicable. In addition to the event registration fees, a bib deposit of $20 (local currency) may be charged by the OC but must be returned upon the return of the bib.

No additional charges can be added on to the entry fees. If there are extenuating circumstances that require a higher entry fee that entry fee amount must be approved by the NorAm Committee two months prior to the event and must be stated on the event invitation.

NAC 7 Refunds

A competition may be cancelled for a number of reasons at various times which are outlined below. If an OC incurs a charge for processing a refund (i.e. PayPal), that charge can be deducted from the total amount owed.

NAC 7.1 Cancellation by the Organiser In the event that a competition is cancelled by the organiser (OC), entry fees will be refunded.

NAC 7.2 Cancellation by the Jury

If an event is cancelled by the Jury, the OC is not obligated to provide a refund.

NAC 7.3 Athlete Withdrawal

If an athlete withdraws from the competition before the event entry deadline, they will be provided a refund (less applicable processing fee). After the event registration deadline, an organiser is not obligated to provide a refund to an athlete even if he or she is injured.

NAC 7.4 Other Cancellations

Requests for refunds for other extraordinary circumstances shall be considered at the discretion of the Organising Committee.

NAC 8 Transport, Passes and Priority

NAC 8.1 Lift Passes

Organisers are encouraged to provide complimentary lift tickets to athletes and coaches on training and competition days. In the event the organiser cannot provide complimentary lift tickets, organisers must make available to registered teams a lift ticket package where the daily lift ticket fee charged does not exceed either the resort's published race/event discounted ticket price or the regular daily ticket price, whichever is the lower price. Teams are not obligated to purchase the lift ticket package offered by the organiser and athletes cannot be denied start rights if they do not choose the organiser's package.

NAC 8.2 Priority

During training and racing, an effort should be made to give priority to the

competitors, coaches and officials on the appropriate ski lifts if necessary.

NAC 9 Park & Pipe Section

NAC 9.1 Training Days

Organisers are required to provide access to the competition venue for two days prior to the first day of competition; at least one session should be designated as official training. The event jury may adjust the schedule and limit training only for issues of force majeure.

Must be submitted by the deadline outlined in CoC rule 2.2.1 using the official FIS Entry Form. Foreign Nation Entries will be confirmed upon payment receipt.

NAC 9.3.1 If the demand for foreign quota spots exceeds the stated quota of 20, each Foreign Nation will receive 1 spot per gender. Any remaining foreign quota spots (up to 20 counting both genders) will be given to competitors in order of highest to lowest rank according to the current points list (FIS or WSPL- whichever ranking is higher). Any remaining spots not taken by one gender can be transferred to the other gender – based on approval from the OC

Aerials and Moguls Section

NAC 10 Official Training

NAC 10.1 Training for NorAm competitions should follow the rules in the ICR 4206. NAC 10.2 On the first day of official training, the training blocks should be divided into two

equal blocks. The first block should be a men’s training period and the second, a period for women. Both blocks must include and inspection period. On the second day of official training, men’s and women’s training blocks should be provided in the order of the qualification programme of the competition.

NAC 10.3 Quotas

Each nation is provided an equal number of quota spots for men and women; each nation is expected to provide equal opportunity per gender to fill spots. The quotas for the NorAm Cup Tour for MO/DM/AE events are as follows:

NAC 10.4 Unused Quota

Unused quota spots either within the Canada/USA allotment or by the host organizer can be filled as per 10.4.1 and 10.4.2.

NAC 10.4.1 Unused USA/Canada Quota Spots If a NorAm nation (USA or Canada) does not have enough eligible athletes in a specific gender to fill the reserved quota spots those unused quota spots may be filled by the other gender from that nation.

NAC 10.4.2 Host Nation Use of Remaining Unused Quota Spots

Any quota spots up to the published maximum field size that remain unfilled after the deadlines (CoC 2.2.1) become available to the host nation. The local

organizer and the host nation’s NSA event coordinator will work together to determine how many of unused spots can be filled by the host nation. Factors affecting the availability of spots are whether a separate qualifying day is held, the time of year, if lights are available for night finals, etc.

NAC 10.5 Foreign National Ski Association Quotas

All member FIS National Ski Associations may participate in NorAm Cup Tour competitions.

NAC 10.5.1 If the demand for foreign quota spots exceeds the stated quota of 30 in MO and 40 in AE, each Foreign Nation will receive 1 spot per gender. Any remaining foreign quota spots (up to 30 in MO/40 in AE counting both genders) will be given to competitors in order of highest to lowest rank according to the current FIS points list. Any remaining spots not taken by one gender can be transferred to the other gender – based on approval from the OC.

NAC 10.6 Foreign Nations Entries

Must be submitted by the deadline outlined in CoC rule 2.2.1 using the official FIS Entry Form. Foreign Nation Entries will be confirmed upon payment receipt.

NAC 10.7 Competition / Seeding

Seeding lists for each NorAm mogul and Dual Mogul competition will be created according to the better ranking of the most recent FIS Points List and the NorAm Cup standings. Any ties shall be broken by a random draw.

NAC 10.7.1 Moguls

The qualifying phase of NorAm Mogul competitions will be seeded for the top 25 athletes (per gender). Competitors from 1 – 25 are assigned start positions randomly then the start positions for competitors 26 to “n” are randomly assigned.

NAC 10.7.2 Dual Moguls

Refer to ICR 4312.1

NAC 10.7.3 Assignment of Bibs for the top 25 Aerialists and Mogul Competitors

At the first NorAm event of the year, the first 25 competitors ranked in each event will be assigned a bib which corresponds to their ranking on the most recent FIS Points list. After the first event, each athlete will be assigned a bib which corresponds to their ranking on the NorAm Cup Ranking List. If the competitor is not present, the bib will not be assigned. Competitors ranked 26th or lower will be given bibs that have been assigned randomly.

NAC 11 Ski and Snowboard Cross Section

NAC 11.1 Additional TD Duties

The TD will arrive at the event site with sufficient time to be present on the field of play for official course testing, prior to the first official training day.

Section B2

Rules Specific to South American Cup (SAC)

SAC 1 Payment of Expenses

SAC 1.1 Expenses for the FIS Technical Advisor/Coordinator

Accommodation and meals for the FIS Technical Advisor/Coordinator are to be covered by the Organisers for the duration of their assignment (on site).

SAC 1.2 Expenses for FIS Officials

Expenses for the Technical Delegate, FIS CoC-Coordinator and the Halfpipe/Big Air/Slopestyle Judges have to be paid according to the current FIS regulations.

SAC. 2 Accommodation

The maximum amount for athletes and officials for half board is CHF 90.

SAC. 3 Entries, Prize Money

A reasonable entry fee may be required that would include lift access and event hospitality. There is no mandatory prize money.

SAC 4 Lift Tickets and Priority

Competitors and officials are entitled to tickets, which permit them to use the uphill transport for the training and competition courses without payment for all competition days. During training and racing, priority should be given to the competitors, coaches and officials on the appropriate ski lifts if necessary.

SAC 5 Snowboard / Ski Rooms

The Organisers are responsible for making adequate snowboard/ski preparation and storage facilities available to all Nations. They must be both heated and secure. This responsibility is met by provision of facilities per Nation; Organisers are not required to provide facilities per company or per regional/national team. (Recommended snowboard/ski room size to accommodate 6-8 athletes and 1-2 servicemen).

SAC 6 Quotas

SAC 6.1 Basic Quota

Each nation is entitled to a basic quota of 8 (max. 5 per gender). In addition the top 16 competitors in the current FIS points list (each event) will receive a personal spot.

SAC. 6.2 Additional Quotas

Each Nation (ARG-BRA-CHI) may enter up to 20 men and 20 women in each competition organised in the other nation. All competitors must hold a current FIS license.

SAC. 6.3 Organising Nation

The Organising Nation may enter a basic quota of 30 men and 30 women: In addition they are entitled to any of the 20 and 20 places the other South American nation’s do not fill. The Host Nation may, with approval of the Organising Committee, allow a visiting Nation to use any of the unfilled places. All competitors must hold a current FIS license.

SAC. 6.4 Additional Quotas for off Continent Visiting Nations

Off Continent National Federations applying for Additional Quotas, limited to a maximum of double the Basic Quota should apply in writing, accompanying the official entry form. This request should be made at least 10 days prior to the competition. A decision will be made by the Organising Committee five days prior to the competition.

SAC 7 Cup Titles

SAC 7.1 South American CoC Events Title

For each Event title, all valid results that a competitor has achieved in the related Event will be counted (must be from the host continent). In case of a tie, the competitor with more 1st places will be placed 1st. If they are still tied the same procedure will be used, inspecting 2nd, 3rd etc. places. If they are still tied they remain tied.

SAC. 7.2 South American CoC Nations Cup Title

The Nations Cup Title will be won by the Nation which has achieved the highest number of valid points during the SAC / CoC Series in all Events, adding all the valid points for women and men.

Section B3

Rules Specific to Asia Cup (AC)

AC 1 Expenses for FIS Officials

Expenses for the Technical Delegate, FIS CoC-Coordinator and the Judges have to be paid according to the current FIS regulations.

AC 2 Event Fees, Prize Money, Event-Hospitality

The Organising Committee is allowed to charge an event fee per training and event-day – this must include entry fee, lift pass and event-hospitality. If they charge an event fee, the amount and the payment procedure must be included in the official invitation. There is no mandatory prize money.

AC 2.1 Refunds

Event fees must be refunded in the case of cancellation or postponement of the event or if the entry is withdrawn by the entry deadline.

AC 3 Quota

AC 3.1 Asian Nations

China, Japan and Korea may enter up to 20 competitors (Maximum 15 per gender) in events organised in the other nation. Other nations who are members of the Asian Ski Federation can enter up to 10 competitors.

All competitors must hold a current FIS license.

AC 3.2 Organising Nation

Additional 50 (total women and men / maximum 30 per gender) / Host Nation per event

In addition they are entitled to any of the higher quota (per AC 2.3.1) that the other nations do not fill. On prior agreement between the nations the host organiser may allow the other countries to use some of their organising nation’s places.

AC 3.3 Nations outside Asia

Each nation outside Asia is entitled to a basic quota of 8 (max. 5 per gender). The Organiser has discretion to accept additional athletes above the quota. This has to be announced in the official invitation.

AC 3.4 Minimum Points Requirement

The minimum requirement to participate in Asia Cup Competitions is: Freeski Big Air & Slopestyle: No minimum points required. Snowboard Big Air & Slopestyle: No minimum points required. Ski Cross: No minimum points required.

In case there are only 2 competitions held per event it has to be on 2 different venues. In case of a tie, the competitor with more 1st places in the respective AC event* will be placed 1st. If they are still tied the same procedure will be used, inspecting 2nd, 3rd etc. places. If they are still tied they remain tied. *SS/BA are considered the same event

ANC 1 Payment of expenses/Support for Teams

Expenses for FIS Officials

Expenses for the Technical Delegate, FIS-CoC-Coordinator and the Judges have to be paid according to the current FIS regulations.

ANC 2 Event Fees, Prize Money, Event-Hospitality

The Organising Committee is allowed to charge an event fee per training and event-day – this must include entry fee, lift pass and event-hospitality. If they charge an event fee, the amount and the payment procedure must be included in the official invitation. There is no mandatory prize money.

ANC 2.1 Refunds

Event fees must be refunded in the case of cancellation or postponement of the event or if the entry is withdrawn by the entry deadline.

ANC 3 Quotas

ANC 3.1 Basic Quotas

Australia and New Zealand may enter up to 40 men and 20 women in each competition organised in the other nation. All competitors must hold a current FIS license. Maximum 10 (total women and men / maximum 8 per gender)

The Organiser has discretion to accept additional athletes above the quota. This has to be announced in the official invitation.

ANC 3.2 Organising Nation

The Organising Nation may enter a basic quota up to 80 men and 40 women in each event. In addition they are entitled to any of the higher quota (per ANC 2.3.1) that the other nations do not fill. On prior agreement between the nations the host organiser may allow the other countries to use some of their organising nation’s places.

ANC 4 ANC Cup Standing

All events included in the category will count for the ANC Cup ranking. Except for the SS and BA combined title where a maximum of 2 best ANC SS points results and the best BA result are taken into consideration. In case of a tie, the competitor with more 1st places in the respective AC event* will be placed 1st. If they are still tied the same procedure will be used, inspecting 2nd, 3rd etc. places. If they are still tied they remain tied. *SS/BA are considered the same event

Section C

Book of Duties for Organisers of Continental Cup Events

A. Publicity

A.1 Event Title

The Organisers are obliged to put the designation: FIS European/NorAm/Asia/South American/Australia New Zealand Cup’ or ‘FIS European/NorAm/Asia/South American/Australia New Zealand Cup - Trophy (sponsor's name) in all posters, notices, press reports, programmes and start lists as well as on the unofficial results lists.

A.2 Other Advertising

No information other than the event title (named in A.1) and the name and place of the event shall appear on the finishing banner without the prior permission of FIS.

A.3 FIS Logo

The FIS logo must appear on all event related material (section A.1).

B. Information

B.1 Invitation

The official invitation must contain the information specified in ICR Rules 213 and 2002.3.

B.2 Results Distribution

The results must be published promptly after each Competition in accordance with ICR Rules 2002.4, 2004.7, 3701, 5701, 6701, 4015, 4211 and 4310.

B.2.1 Timing and Data

The Organiser must provide a Timing and Data System which is able to fulfill the following requirements: use existing FIS Points Lists and CoC Standing Lists; provide the possibility to calculate start lists, results from all phases of the competition including final results, CoC points and FIS points achieved.

B.3 E-mail / Electronic Transmission

Immediately after approval by the Technical Delegate, Organisers must transmit official results and penalty calculation by e-mail to [email protected]. The results must also be transmitted electronically and in FIS format (xml) to: [email protected].

B.5 Duty of the Organiser

The Organiser must forward results and any relevant information by e-mail to the person(s) listed in B.4 for the respective Continental Cup directly after each competition.

C. Media Service

The press service should adhere to the FIS Media Services Guidelines The organiser of a FIS Continental Cup shall assist attending media with the coordination of accommodation and ground transportation. The organiser shall also supply the representatives working space which should be sufficient to meet the needs of all accredited media representatives. The organiser shall supply all technical means necessary for the fulfillment of their task and shall appoint an experienced Chief of Media & Press who will be charged with the responsibility to assist the media with all possible information.

At a minimum the Organiser should provide all accredited journalists and photographers with an indoor working space equipped with basic technology (wifi, electrical outlets, etc.) necessary for journalists to successfully cover a competition.

C.1 Public Draw

A public draw of start numbers for the top group may be organised for one of the competitions if there is television coverage of the public draw or there is sufficient public interest to justify it.

F. Medical Service

The Organiser is responsible for providing a Chief of Medical and Rescue Services according to the FIS Medical Guide and ICR 221.6, who must provide medical services as mentioned in the FIS Medical Guide.

I. General

The ICR, the Continental Cup Rules Section A and Section B Continental Cup and other complementary directives must be strictly followed.

Other matters relating to the competition rules which do not have specific precisions in the Continental Cup Rules Section A or Section B, are otherwise covered in the FIS International Competition Rules (ICR).
