Rev. Benjamin E. Berry

Benjamin E. Berry was born May 28, 1919 in New York City. His parents were Mr.and Mrs. Benjamin E. Berry.

He and Mrs. Berry are the parents of three children, Ben, Bill, and Cindy.He became pastor of East Side in June 1963 and resigned in June, 1964.Other pastorates include: Salem Baptist Church, Whitakers, N. C. from March 1952

to January, 1956; Mill Creek Baptist Church, Roxboro, N. C. from January 1956 - July1959; LaGrange Park Baptist Chapel, LaGrange, III.from July, 1959 - October 1959;Mill Creek Baptist Church, Roxboro, N. C. from November 1959 - January 1963;Roxboro Baptist Chapel and Westwood Baptist Church, Roxboro, N. C. from June,1964 - January 1967; Lee Street Baptist Church, Danville, Va. from January 1967 -November, 1969.

Following brain surgery, he was retired from the ministry from November 1969 toNovember 1974.

As he regained his health, he again went back into the ministry. In November, 1974he received a call to the pastorate of Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Durham, N. C.where he is serving at the present time.

Rev. C. Grady Nowell

C. Grady Nowell was born in Wake County on October 21, 1930 to Mr. and Mrs.Benjamin Franklin Nowell.

He graduated from Rolesville High School in 1948 and then attended one year ofbusiness school in Raleigh, N. C. After working for about two years, he felt God's call topreach and enrolled in Wake Forest College for the spring semester in 1951.

After graduation in 1956 he enrolled in Southeastern Baptist Seminary.In the spring of 1957 he was called as pastor of West End Baptist Mission in

Washington, N. C., a position he held until December, 1958.In August, 1957 he was married to Barbara Ann Short of High Point, N. C. They are

the parents of four children: Carolyn Jean, Kenneth Grady, Sandra Kay, and BrendaJoy.

He finished his seminary work in December, 1959 and was called as pastor of OxHill Baptist Chapel in Chantilly, Va. in February, 1960.

In September, 1964 he was called as pastor of East Side Baptist Church, Reidsvillewhere he served until January, 1967 when he was called into Foreign MissionsService.

Rev. Nowell and his family left the states in April, 1967 to go to Costa Rica wherethey spent one year studying Spanish. The next year they went to Honduras, wherethey spent the next nine years serving as missionaries, working as Field Evangelists,Bookstore Manager, and Mission Treasurer. Rev. Nowell is currently pastor of PennMemorial Baptist Church in Reidsville.
