bypresentinghimwithabadgeandhandcuffsforhistrafficpatrolmo-mentsatthejointRotarymeetingoftheMassillonandCantonclubswasfun.PresentingourownMayorKathywithaflashingorangelightthatstopstrafficandbulldogswasevenbetter.SeeingourTigersoutplaythebulldogsineverywaypossible,PRICELESS!Ineveryjoborpositiontherearealwaysoneortwothingsthatarebothfunandreward-ingthatoffsetthemanyhoursofhardwork.Intheweeksaheadwewillworkandplayhardtomakethingshappenforourcommunity.

Thursday,Nov7th,2013,wewillsupporttheUnitedWaywhentheMasterscomestoMassillonattheMas-sillonMuseum.Therewillbe18holesofminiaturegolfsetupinthemostcreativewaywithlocalartistsdesigningthechallengingcourselayout.

Thisyearourclubpurchasednewcoatsforkidsin“OperationWarm.”Thisisnottobeconfusedwith“TheCOOLProject”thatcametoMassilloninJune.ThecoatswillbedistributedbytheBoysandGirlsClub,Salvation

ComingNovember21stisthe“NightAtTheMuseum”whichisourRotaryFoundationfundraiser.ThiswillagainbeattheMuseumandofferstheop-portunityforfunasmanywillchoosetodressincostumetobidsilentlyorintheoralauctionheldandsamplethecuisinefromlocalrestaurants.Pleaseinvitefriendstojoinusaswelltoinsurethesuccessofthismajorevent.

ThisyearourRotaryFoundationandclubisreachingoutlocallytotheLincolnHistoricTheatreProjecttoraisefundsforthepurchaseofadigitalprojector.Thiswillinsureyearsoftradi-tionalmovieentertainmenttocontinue.

Recentlywealsopurchased60bookstitled“TheSecretGift”.ThisoutlinesthestoryofB.Virdotwhoanonymouslyhelpedothers.AsRotarianswearehelpingothersafarandlocallytomakeadifferencethatupholdsthevaluesofRotary.Ihopeyouwillsharewhatisgoingonthatourgoodworkswillnotbeasecretbutinsteadencouragesoth-erstojoinus.Thereismuchworktobedoneand...funtobehadbyall.

Board Of Directors Meeting NotesTheBoardofDirectorsmetatKozmo’sGrilleonOctober1st.Thefollow-

ingaresomeitemsofinterestfromthatmeeting:Thepercentageofactivemembersattendingthefourclubmeetingsin

Septemberwas51%.Wecurrentlyhave71membersonourclubroster,64ofwhichhaveActivestatusand7whoareExempt.

AsofOctober1sttheclubhadraised$1,500frommembersfortheOp-erationWarmProject,withanadditional$100comingfromtheMassillonMunicipalCourt.Thattotalof$1,600issufficienttopurchaseapproxi-mately80coatsfordistributiontoneedyyouthinourarea.Thecoatswillbedistributedthroughothercommunityorganizations,includingtheSalvationArmyandtheMassillonBoysandGirlsClub.

TheBoardapprovedthemembershipapplicationofSageFoxforpresen-tationtotheclubmembership.Mr.FoxservesasaClinicalLiaisonfortheLaurelsofMassillon.HissponsorisKathyShultz.

AspartoftheMassillon-McKinleygamefestivities,wewillbeholdingajointmeetingwiththeCantonRotaryClubonFriday,November1st,attheMoonlightBallroominCanton.

BobSandersonhasnotifiedtheBoardthathewillresignfromthepositionofPresident-Elect,effectiveDecember31,2013.DonniePetershasagreedtoserveouttheremainderofBobSanderson’stermofoffice,andhewillbeappointedbytheBoardattheappropriatetime.ThiswillnecessitatefindingsomeonetoreplaceDonniePeterstoserveasvicepresident.

TheBoardhascanceledtheJanuary2ndclubmeeting,duetoitsproxim-itytotheNewYearsDayholiday.

TheSeptember26thgolfoutingwasasuccess,withanetof$1,872raisedfortheclub.Thememberssupportedthisfund-raiserverywell,with40golfersregisteredand10hole-sponsors.TimBryanandDonniePetersco-chairedthatevent.

ThenextregularlyscheduledmeetingoftheBoardofDirectorsisTues-day,November5th,at11:30am,atKozmo’sGrille.
