The planning for the Cabaret fund raiser per my earlier email is well underway. The event is scheduled for March 21st, 2015 at Our Lady of the Chesapeake in Pasadena. 300 tickets were available and we are almost sold out! The event is targeted to raise $15,000 to acquire a trac chair for a multiple amputee veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. If you are interested in attending, you need to call/email me asap to see if any tickets remain available. You are welcome to make a donation to support the effort. Please make the check payable to Our Lady of the Chesapeake with “Independence Fund” on the memo line of the check and send to me @ 1472 Westcliff Dr., Pasadena, MD 21122. Your donation is 100% tax deductible but more importantly, you will be giving a multiple amputee freedom of movement. A Youtube video will be published after the event. As I noted earlier all of the folks involved in putting on the event are donating their time and talents, including the musicians. All monies raised will go to the acquisition of a trac chair.

Polly Fitz A motor coach trip left Hagerstown on October 13, 2014 for a six day adventure to Myrtle Beach, SC. Three 1957 "girls" were in the group with their husbands (The three had not planned to go together.), and had a fabulous time enjoying shows, sightseeing, shopping, and eating at the best restaurants, but most of all just being together again.

SUBJECT: I AM THANKFUL
FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
6
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.
FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME, NOT ON THE STREETS.
7
FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM EMPLOYED .
FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A
PARTY, BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN
SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.
FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.
8
FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME
WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE
FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING, AND
GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME .
9
FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
10
FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING
LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION .
FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.
FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH WHO
SINGS OFF KEY BECAUSE IT MEANS I CAN HEAR.
11

BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.
FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.
FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.
12
AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MANY E-MAILS, BECAUSE IT
MEANS I HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.
