Was educated at the royal court and became a member of the king’s council.

His life spanned 1467-1528.Isabel de Gouvia de Quieirós was his wife.The expedition was his first time commanding

a ship.

Pedro wanted to reach Asia through the Cape of Good Hope.

He wanted to reach India from the route of the Cape of Good Hope.

Planned to take the same route that Da Gama took.
