Generous spirit shines through the Children
Our “Children’s Offering” program is going so great. We witness children’s expression of gratitude to God for all His blessings in giving their weekly offering to God. Some envelopes contain not only their monetary offering but also their petitions, thanksgiving and kind acts of love. During the offertory, I see many faces are beaming in seeing our children walking down the aisles to give their offering to God. Some are walking quietly with pious looks, some are running and jumping… but all of them have huge smiles on their faces. Certainly we experience “God loves a cheerful giver” in our children.
Here are some of the examples of the messages of the children. (Quoted directly from the students)

Annual Envelop Fundraiser.
All of the funds for this event will go towards retreats the teens will attend throughout the year. Retreats such as the Winter Retreat in Williams and Steubenville West in Tucson.
Please stop by after Mass and speak to one of our teens to receive more information on how you can participate in sowing into the
lives of our youth and Church.

Discovering Christ is a seven-week experience that invites you to hear the Good News and personally encounter Jesus Christ.
Each evening includes a free dinner, dynamic teaching, and small group discussion about the meaning of life in Jesus Christ.
Discovering Christ meets each Monday evening for seven weeks, beginning January 22 at 6 pm to 8:30 pm in Presentation Hall, and includes a special retreat on Saturday, February 24, from 9 am to 3 pm. Every evening begins with a free dinner. There is no cost to attend.

Discovering Christ is for everyone! It will help both the beginner in his or her faith journey, and strengthen those who have been walking with the Lord for many years.

On January 20, 2018, join pro-lifers of all nationalities and faith backgrounds from around the state in downtown Phoenix for the Arizona for Life March and Rally, an event celebrating and advocating for the beauty and dignity of every human life. Be a voice for the voiceless.

High School Multi-Parish Retreat: CONQUER March 2-4 2018

Imagine over 400 teens gathered together in the picturesque mountains of Williams, Arizona, excited about having an encounter with Christ. Some who attend have grown up in the Church, for others this is one of their first experiences of the Church. Regardless of how involved or detached the teens may have been from faith, this retreat has had a life-changing impact on countless teens who attend. Led by 3More worship band, inspired by Catholic speakers, fortified by the sacraments, elevated in prayer and adoration, and with the presence of many priests and our own Bishop Thomas Olmsted, teens walk away from this retreat with great love and zeal for Christ and His Church. Registration has begun, the $150.00 fee includes lodging, bus fare, meals and a t-shirt. Please contact Elisa, Youth Facilitator at 480-844-4476 today to reserve your spot. The Feast of Santo Niño is celebrated across the Philippine Archipelago and by the Philippino Catholics all
over the globe. Santo Niño is the first image of Catholicism that was brought to our country, where our faith
traditions have flourished. It unites the Philippinos everywhere in prayer, adoration and in showcasing our
cultural heritage. In the same spirit and enthusiasm, we would like to invite our Kababayans and other
communities to come celebrate with us and relive the religious festivity and tradition that we all grewup with.

Un espíritu de generosidad brilla a través de los niñios
Nuestro programa de ofrenda de los niños va en buena marcha. Hemos visto la expresión de gratitud de los niños con Dios por todas sus bendiciones, al dar su ofrenda cada semana a Dios. Algunos sobres contienen no solamente su ofrenda monetaria, si no también sus peticiones, agradecimiento y actos lindos de amor. Durante el ofertorio, yo veo que muchas caras se iluminan al ver a nuestros niños ir caminando por el pasillo a dar su ofrenda al Señor. Algunos caminan en silencio con mirada piadosa, otros corren y brincan… pero todos ellos tienen grandes sonrisas en sus caras. Con certeza vemos en nuestros niños como “Dios ama al que da con alegría”.

Retiro Espiritual a Nivel Multi-Parroquia para Adolescentes de High School: CONQUISTA Marzo 2-4 2018

Imagínese a más de 400 adolescentes reunidos en las pintorescas montañas de Williams, Arizona, emocionados de tener un encuentro con Cristo. Algunos han crecido en la Iglesia, para otros ésta es una de sus primeras experiencias de la Iglesia. En cualquier caso, ya sea si han estado o no involucrados en la fe, este retiro ha tenido un impacto que ha cambiado la vida de un sinnúmero de adolescentes que han asistido. Guiados por el grupo de alabanza 3More, inspirados por presentadores Católicos, fortalecidos por los sacramentos, elevados en oración y adoración, y con la presencia de muchos sacerdotes y nuestro Obispo Tomas Olmsted, los adolescentes se llevan de este retiro un gran amor y celo por Cristo y Su Iglesia. Ya comenzaron las inscripciones, el pago de $150.00 incluye alojamiento, tarifa de autobús, alimentos y una camiseta. La Fiesta del Santo Niño se celebra en el archipiélago Filipino y por los católicos filipinos por todo
el mundo. Ésta imagen del Santo Niño es la primera imagen que se trajo a nuestro país, en donde
nuestras tradiciones de fe han prosperado. En esta fiesta nos unimos todos los filipinos en todo el
mundo en oración, adoración y al presentar nuestra herencia cultural. Con el mismo espíritu y
entusiasmo, nos gustaría invitar a nuestros Kababayanos y a las demás comunidades a celebrar con
nosotros y vivir de nuevo la festividad y tradición religiosa con la que todos crecimos.

Shepherd me O God, beyond my wants, beyond my fears, from death into life.
God is my shepherd so nothing shall I want, I rest in the meadows of faithfulness and love. I walk by the quiet waters of peace.
Gently you raise me and heal my weary soul, You lead me by pathways of righteousness and truth, My spirit shall sing the music of Your name.
Though I should wander the valley of death, I fear no evil, for You are at my side. Your rod and Your staff, my comfort and my hope.

Elizabeth wanted a child, to love, to have, and to hold, but her dreams would fade away as her body grew old.
Zechariah wanted a son, to raise, to guide, to behold. He couldn't believe the gift he'd receive,
so in silence he did as he was told.
John danced in the womb, for his cousin, his savior, the Lord. By grace he was given the Spirit so he could baptize the Word.
And the heavens were opened, and the Holy Spirit came down,
And at last we see the Trinity, Father, Spirit, Son.
John lived in the wild preaching the need for repentance from sin.
He called us to the water to cleanse ourselves from sin.
Jesus had come to serve to give his life for love. What we see on that day in the Jordan
is the blessing from above.
And the voice of the Father thundered: This is my son, My beloved son with whom I am well pleased, listen to Him.
