WORKSHOPSFreakish Heads Illustration Fancy attending some sort of creature/fantasy head-workshop with comics illustrator, Matt Timson? You’ll be drawing heads and shownsome practical tips and tricks to get better results-such as highlighting, shading etc (allof which can be applied to other drawing tasks as well). You wouldn't be tied to anything'real world', so ability would count for less than imagination. In terms of materials, you’llbe working with paper, soft pencils a bit of tissue and a good eraser.Salsa Dance workshop Come along and dance some salsa with Mrs Routledge, theRSA dance teacher. We will be looking at the basic step patterns, partner work andlearning a salsa routine!Marker Rendering In these two sessions you will be taught how to apply colour toyour designs just like a professional designer. You will work with professional gradeequipment and work alongside Mr Old who has a background in automotive design.Physical Theatre - Frantic Assembly A high energy physical theatre workshop whereyou will use exercises and activities that are used by the world renowned FranticAssembly. Devise, create and explore physical theatre at its best!Recording and Mixing Presentation Jamie Ward is a producer, recording engineer,mix engineer and musician who has recorded Maybeshewill, Kyte, Minnaars, Skepta (ft.Charlee Drew), and many more. He will be bringing along some of his Pro Tools sessionsfrom recordings he has engineered and mixed, and going through the session fromTracking, EQ and compression to FX uses. He’ll hopefully be revealing some of his tricksof the trade in creating professional sounding mixes.Embroidery The Embroiderers Guild is coming! The session will see around 6 differentmembers of the Embroiderers Guild offering 6 different stiches to master in what willbe a busy and informative workshop. Improve your embroidery skills or learn new ones!Suitable for Textile and Art students.Lyrical Jazz and Commercial Dance Iquan is currently studying at Addict DanceStudio and is an ex RSA student. He will be offering two workshops in Commercialdance and Lyrical Jazz. This will give you the chance to learn some new movement anddevelop performance skills in these styles.Being an artist: How to make a living Great for any students who are considering anartistic career in the future, or those studying Silver Arts Award, as evidence for part D:“Learn about artists”. Illustrator and ex-Robert Smyth student, Alice Bowsher will begiving a talk about her career and how to make a living being an artist.Cake Decorating Workshop If students enjoy being creative and working with icingthen come along! The session will be run by experienced cake maker and decorator,Susie Preston.Pinhole photography workshop Professional photographer Jo Gane will be deliveringa fascinating hands on workshop in pinhole camera techniques. You will be given a brieftalk on her career and shown examples of her work before producing your own set ofphotographs. You will need to get a letter for this workshop from Miss Kenworthy.GCSE Music Concert One of two annual free concerts given by GCSE Music students. Itstarts at 7pm in the MAX on Thursday 15th October. Tickets are free from StudentServices. This concert has sold out for two consecutive years, make sure you get aticket!
