1. Looking Back 2019-2020

Women’s • W1s Triple Indoor Promotion to National League Division 1• W2s Promotion• W3s Promotion• W4s Double Promotion• W5s PromotionMen’s • M3s PromotionJuniors’ • 682 players • 111 Coaches

• Mid-Week Academy Hockey, Mentoring, Performance Programmes, Strength and Conditioning, International exchange opportunities, Indoor Hockey, coach development and Young Leaders Induction.


2. Our Direction of Travel

• In 2019 and 2020 the club grew with two successful new teams and the introduction of Men’s B2H.

• Coaching is growing in quantity and quality, delivering 80-100 hours of professional coaching every week, the work of 70 volunteer coaches and 41 new Young Leaders.

• The range and quality of social opportunities is increasing with appointment of a new social secretary Ali Strutt.

• We are becoming a bigger part of the local community• We work with over 300 players in nine schools, growing to 24 in 2024.• We deliver outstanding junior coaching, holiday camps and summer

hockey.• We deliver community work with local charities and are partnered with

The Surrey Youth Games.• This progress is reflected in our growing number of sponsors who support

these programmes and the Club.


3. For 2020-2021

Creating a Great Place to Play:

• Great coaching and leadership. • Fair and transparent selection policy and game time.• An appropriate level of competitive hockey and individual

challenge.• Effective administration and support.• Social opportunities on and off the pitch.


4. Long Term Planning

• Better hockey: Including National League hockey for Men and Women. Performance Programming and mentoring opportunities for outstanding players. Overseas exchange programme and international tours.

• More hockey: 10 Men’s and 8 Women’s teams, as well as broader training opportunities for adults and juniors (beyond a single evening each week for each player). Summer membership for junior players, adult summer hockey, hockey camps and courses.

• More space: A practice area and reliable access to more pitches on matchday.

• Wider Access: Schools programme expansion, Surrey Youth Games Support and Flyerz Hockey.

• Better Coaching and umpiring: A coaching and umpiring pathway open to everyone.
