Mary Magdalene came early to the tomb, while it was still dark, and saw the stone already taken away from the tomb.

Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.”

John 20:3John 20:3So Peter and the

other disciple went forth, and they were going to the tomb.

running together; and the other disciple ran ahead faster than Peter and came to the tomb first; 5 and stooping and looking in, he saw the linen wrappings lying there; but he did not go in.

John 20:6-7John 20:6-7And so Simon Peter also came,

following him, and entered the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there, 7 and the face-cloth which had been on His head, not lying with the linen wrappings, but rolled up in a place by itself.

John 20:8-10John 20:8-10So the other disciple who had first

come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. 9 For as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. 10 So the disciples went away again to their own homes.

John 20:11-12John 20:11-12But Mary was standing outside

the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb; 12 and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been lying.

John 20:13John 20:13And they said to her, “Woman,

why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”

John 20:14John 20:14When she had said this, she

turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus.

John 20:15John 20:15Jesus said to her, “Woman, why

are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing Him to be the gardener, she said to Him, “Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”

John 20:16-17John 20:16-17Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She

turned and said to Him in Hebrew, “Rabboni!” (which means, Teacher). 17 Jesus said to her, “Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.’”

John 20:18John 20:18Mary Magdalene came,

announcing to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord,” and that He had said these things to her.

Luke 24:13-14Luke 24:13-14And behold, two of them were going that very day

to a village named Emmaus, which was

about seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 And they were talking with each other about all these

things which had taken place.

Luke 24:15-16Luke 24:15-16While they were talking and discussing, Jesus

Himself approached and began traveling with

them. 16 But their eyes were prevented from

recognizing Him.

Luke 24:17Luke 24:17And He said to them,

“What are these words that you are exchanging with one another as you are walking?” And they stood still, looking sad.

Luke 24:18Luke 24:18One of them, named

Cleopas, answered and said to Him, “Are You the

only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things which have happened here in these

days?”

Luke 24:19-21Luke 24:19-21And He said to them, “What

things?” And they said to Him, “The things about Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word in the sight of God and all the people, 20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to the sentence of death, and crucified Him. 21 But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since these things happened.”

Luke 24:22-24Luke 24:22-24“But also some women among us

amazed us. When they were at the tomb early in the morning, 23 and did not find His body, they came, saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said that He was alive. 24 Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just exactly as the women also had said; but Him they did not see.”

Luke 24:25-26Luke 24:25-26And He said to them, “O foolish

men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?”

Luke 24:27Luke 24:27Then beginning with Moses and

with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.

Luke 24:28-29Luke 24:28-29And they approached the village

where they were going, and He acted as though He were going farther. 29 But they urged Him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is getting toward evening, and the day is now nearly over.” So He went in to stay with them.

with them, He took the bread and blessed it, and breaking it, He began giving it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight.

Luke 24:33-35Luke 24:33-35And they got up that very hour

and returned to Jerusalem, and found gathered together the eleven and those who were with them, 34 saying, “The Lord has really risen and has appeared to Simon.” 35 They began to relate their experiences on the road and how He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.

John 20:19John 20:19So when it was evening

on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

John 20:20-21John 20:20-21And when He had said

this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples then rejoiced when they saw the Lord. 21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

John 20:22-23John 20:22-23And when He had said

this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained.”

John 20:24John 20:24But Thomas, one of the

twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.

John 20:25John 20:25So the other disciples

were saying to him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the imprint of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”

John 20:26John 20:26After eight days His

disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.”

John 20:27-28John 20:27-28Then He said to

Thomas, “Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.” 28 Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

John 20:29John 20:29Jesus said to him,

“Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”

John 21:1 John 21:1 After these things Jesus

manifested Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and He manifested Himself in this way.

John 21:2-3 John 21:2-3 Simon Peter, and Thomas

called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will also come with you.” They went out and got into the boat; and that night they caught nothing.

John 21:4-5John 21:4-5But when the day was now

breaking, Jesus stood on the beach; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 So Jesus said to them, “Children, you do not have any fish, do you?” They answered Him, “No.”

John 21:6John 21:6And He said to them, “Cast

the net on the right-hand side of the boat and you will find a catch.” So they cast, and then they were not able to haul it in because of the great number of fish.

John 21:7 John 21:7 Therefore that disciple whom

Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord.” So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put his outer garment on (for he was stripped for work), and threw himself into the sea.

John 21:8 John 21:8 But the other disciples came in

the little boat, for they were not far from the land, but about one hundred yards away, dragging the net full of fish.

John 21:9John 21:9So when they got out on the land,

they saw a charcoal fire already laid and fish placed on it, and bread.

John 21:12-14 John 21:12-14 Jesus said to them, “Come and

have breakfast.” None of the disciples ventured to question Him, “Who are You?” knowing that it was the Lord. 13 Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and the fish likewise. 14 This is now the third time that Jesus was manifested to the disciples, after He was raised from the dead.

John 21:15 John 21:15 So when they had finished

breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My lambs.”

John 21:16 John 21:16 He said to him again a second

time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Shepherd My sheep.”

John 21:17 John 21:17 He said to him the third time,

“Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Tend My sheep.”

John 21:18 John 21:18 “Truly, truly, I say to you, when

you were younger, you used to gird yourself and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will gird you, and bring you where you do not wish to go.”

John 21:19 John 21:19 Now this He said, signifying by

what kind of death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me!”

John 21:20-21John 21:20-21Peter, turning around, saw the

disciple whom Jesus loved following them; the one who also had leaned back on His bosom at the supper and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?” 21 So Peter seeing him said to Jesus, “Lord, and what about this man?”

John 21:22-23 John 21:22-23 Jesus said to him, “If I want him to

remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me!” 23 Therefore this saying went out among the brethren that that disciple would not die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but only, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?”

John 21:24 John 21:24 This is the disciple who is

testifying to these things and wrote these things, and we know that his testimony is true.

Acts 1:1-2 Acts 1:1-2 The first account I composed,

Theophilus, about all that Jesus began to do and teach, 2 until the day when He was taken up to heaven, after He had by the Holy Spirit given orders to the apostles whom He had chosen.

Acts 1:3Acts 1:3To these He also presented

Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God.

Acts 1:4-5 Acts 1:4-5 Gathering them together, He

commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, “Which,” He said, “you heard of from Me; 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

they were asking Him, saying, “Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?”

Acts 1:7-8Acts 1:7-8He said to them, “It is not for you

to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority; 8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

Acts 1:10-11Acts 1:10-11And as they were gazing intently

into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them. 11 They also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”
