The Green is the centrepiece of Richmond, ringed with historic buildings and close to the Thames towpath, which is perfect for a stroll at any time of the year.

Shopping in central Richmond is a fabulous mix of big brands and independent retailers, and the borough also has a great range of cafes, restaurants and bars.

Richmond’s property is diverse. Small streets of quaint cottages in the centre, give way to large Georgian and Victorian terraces and detached family homes on Richmond Hill and around the park.

No visit to Richmond would be complete without a trip to Richmond Park. The famous deer inhabited park which was once Charles I hunting ground is perfect for many activities such as cycling, horse riding and picnicking. In the surrounding areas to Richmond, Kew Gardens, Hampton Court Palace and Marble Hill are extremely popular attractions.

Richmond ParkThe largest of London’s Royal Parks, this is an important wildlife conservation area and home to herds of Red and Fallow deer.

Marble Hill House and ParkA wonderful Palladian villa set in riverside parkland that is well worth a visit.

Hampton Court PalaceFormer home of Henry VIII, this beautiful and historic building is situated in Hampton by East Molesey.

Kew GardensWorld renowned Royal Botanical Gardens boasting historic buildings, rare plants and beautiful landscapes. An annual pass is available for unlimited entry.

The London Borough of Richmond-upon Thames has some of the finest state and independent schools in the country with the borough often featuring high in national league tables for the quality of education.
