O come, let us adore Him. O come, let us adore Him. O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord! We sing this song for a few weeks during the Christmas season, but you can live it year-round. The Perpetual Adoration Chapel at the Basilica of St. Cyril’s and Methodius, Danville PA, has open hours with no permanent adorer and the majority of the hours have only one adorer. Our goal is two adorers per hour each day. There is no better New Year’s resolution. In 2018, spend an hour a week with the King of Kings! If you are a retiree, night owl, or just like nightshift Mon 2-3 AM, Wed 2-3 AM, and Fri 3-4 AM are available. Need a weekend hour due to your Mon-Fri work schedule? Sat 1-2 AM has no permanent adorer. Mon 3-4 PM and Fri 3-4 PM are open for individuals or families. Concerned you can’t commit an hour a week? Consider sharing an hour with another adorer. You will always have a built-in substitute when you can’t make it! Sign up for an hour that fits your schedule! Contact Lisa at 570-204-2501. For personal safety, the chapel closes during inclement winter weather.

Life Teen Mission Statement Guided by the Holy Spirit, the mission of St. Columba Youth Ministry is to empower young people to develop a personal relationship with Jesus so they can live as Disciples of Christ. Through living a sacramental life, continuing Catholic formation, prayer, sharing of gifts and talents, through service and social activities, young people come to understand who Jesus is and live for Him.

GRADERS

It provides a safe fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. Edge resources speak to the physical, psychological, cognitive, relational, and spiritual

maturation of middle school youth.

KINDERGARTEN AT ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL

In 1890, St. Joseph School opened its doors to the community of Danville. Since then it has evolved into a competitive, diverse program committed to academic excellence. High standards of intellectual and moral development encourage our students to reach their full potential and prepare them to face the challenges of a demanding and rigorous workforce. Since its inception, St. Joseph School has proudly provided a faith-based education to children in grades 1 through 8 for more than 125 years. As we continue to look ahead at furthering the mission of Catholic education in Danville, the St. Joseph School family is about to undergo an exciting addition. Beginning with the 2018-2019 school year, St. Joseph School will offer its first Kindergarten opportunity. Our Kindergarten program will offer both full-day and half-day options and will be housed in the Annex (the former art room). Catholic education plays a vitally important role in our community. Along with St. Cyril’s Preschool and Kindergarten, we strive to continue the traditions of our faith and create new, innovative programs for our students. Our partnership is what makes us strong and successful. We look forward to continuing that relationship and supporting one another. I ask for your continued prayers as we build the

Kindergarten program and strengthen the foundation of

St. Joseph School. Together, we can build a brighter

future for the countless students who have, at one time

or another, called St. Joseph School “home” and

welcome a new generation of students to our family of

learners.

Sincerely, Mrs. Kimberly Winters Principal

PRAY FOR PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS In Saudi Arabia it is illegal to celebrate Christmas or for Christians to gather for worship, but some manage to do this secretly. In one such gathering the pastor concluded his homily thus: “God wants to use you. Now it’s Christmas, but every other day of your life is meant to share His gift of life with the people around you. Every day can be Christmas if you are willing to obey Him when He says: ‘Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.’ ”

CONGRATULATIONS to the family of Logan Scott Marr who recently received the gift of Baptism here at St. Joseph.
