Install & Align

All BPMs installed and aligned in the tunnel.

However, we can’t install Ref. cavity for KEK BPMs.

Oscilloscope method for resolution study

I-Q tuning for KEK BPM1,2 & KNU BPM

I-Q tuning was performed by using oscilloscope.

When I signal shows

the maximum position,

Q signal was set to

minimum position by

using phase shifter.

ADC method for resolution study

Calibration run

I-Q tuning for KEK BPM1,2 & KNU BPM

Search for each BPMs center (BPM1->BPM2->KNU)

Calibration run of KEK BPMs was performed under 40 dB,

30 dB, 20 dB attenuation cases.

Calibration run of KNU BPM was performed under 40 dB,

20 dB, 0 dB amplification cases.

Resolution run

Resolution run was performed for noise level.

KNU electronics repair

Phase shifter

Phase shifter was broken every

time. Also, we need remote system

of the phase shifter. Therefore,

phase shifter will make

independently with electronics.

LO & RF signal isolation

IF signal of KNU electronics shows

the mixed signal of LO and RF.

Also, KNU electronics work without RF signal.

Therefore, KNU electronics should repair to achieve more high resolution.

Off-set control system for the IF signal

Fabrication of the KNU electronics Ver. 2

X-port of Ver. 2 electronics can make until June. However,

we need more study for the Y-port of KNU electronics Ver. 1.

Therefore, Y-port of Ver. 2 electronics don’t need until next

resolution study.

We should prepare ADC module to achieve more

high resolution for KNU electronics Ver. 1 and to

provide real time beam position to FONT.

What is preparation about ADC for next study?
