Assessment and LEarning in Knowledge Spaces is a web-based, artificially intelligent assessment and learning system which uses adaptive questioning to quickly and accurately determine exactly what a student knows and doesn't know in a math course. ALEKS provides tailored instruction on the topics each student is most ready to learn. As a student works through a course, ALEKS periodically reassesses the student to ensure that topics learned are also retained. • In order to retain current understandings and maximize gains, students are

expected to dedicate time to ALEKS throughout the summer. • Time devoted to Quick Tables will not be included in the times listed above. The

program documents the time and lessons completed during each session. It is not unusual for students to complete an ALEKS level over the summer. If a level is completed, please email [email protected] so that your child can be moved to the next level. ACCELERATED MATH 4: Students placed in Accelerated Math 4 are expected to attend an accelerated math class June 10th – 14th and/or complete a packet of skills, concepts, and practice problems that will be skipped due to the accelerated placement. This packet is in lieu of the packet for new 4th graders. Completed packets should be returned to 4th grade math teachers August 15th. The completion of this packet supersedes ALEKS (see ALEKS information above). Newly accelerated students are required to complete only three (3) hours of ALEKS AND the accelerated math packet.
