• Distinct primary uses of this report– Creating research Lists– Managing process tasks

• Create simple lists with minimum effort, or

• Create more complex lists with several criteria elements

• A simple report example:• You want to know some or all events that occurred

in a given state• All events?• Births and deaths? Marriages?

• Create report for all events in the state of Tennessee

• Select “List of events in a specific place.”

• In Report Title field, enter “in State of Tennessee” after “List of [F]” in Report Title field.

• Click on “Create Report” once again.

• Good report to verify entry of source for all relevant people and tags

• Helpful in finding missing citations of a source

• For Columnar, go to Options and change List Type to Columnar.

Specifying the Output

• Reports have default output (display)

• Accept or build further

• Choose additional/other fields to display

• Some reports have one style of output

• List of Citations Report has both Indented and Columnar

View, Save, and/or Print List of … Reports

• View reports to determine if filter, content, or output need to be redefined or modified.

• Save to computer for future reference.

• Print for your files or use in more research.

• You may want to preview report on the screen first to determine if adjustments should be made before re-creating or printing.

Final Notes

• Experiment creating all the List of … Reports.

• Experiment with drop-down lists.• Experiment with options and output.• Once you begin to create a few lists with

various attributes, you will be more comfortable doing so and will find a variety of information available to help you in your research and analysis.
