End of Program Comprehensive Examination, Peregrine

Objective (Target/Criterion) for Direct Measure 1

Peregrine test scores of seniors are reviewed against national

institutional mean scores. The performance target is that students

total score is at or above the national institutional mean score.

2. Direct Measure 2

BUS 498B Capstone Course Project

Program ISLOs Assessed by this Measure: Outcomes List

Objective (Target/Criterion) for Direct Measure 2

The use of evaluation rubrics in the capstone course, BUS 498B,

evaluates the written and oral communication skills of all seniors as

well as use of appropriate information technology, literacy and

teamwork skills in a capstone course project. The target for the

rubrics is that at least 75% or more of seniors who major in

Business Administration will achieve an “adequate” or higher

rating on the capstone course rubrics.

Senior Exit Exam Survey

Program ISLOs Assessed by this Measure: Outcomes List

Objective (Target/Criterion) for Indirect Measure 1

On the senior exit exam survey, the survey benchmark is that at

least 70% or more of seniors will rate the quality of their program

and instruction as good or excellent.

In April 2017, the exit exam survey was revised to align with the

ISLOs developed during the self-study year.

Learning Assessment Results: B.A./B.S. in Business Administration

Summary of Results from Implementing Direct Measures of Student Learning:

1. Summary of Results for Direct Measure 1: This objective was met. The overall average percent score for LCSC students in this program was 59% compared to a national average of 55.54%. LCSC students scored, on average, 3.5% above the national average score.

2. Summary of Results for Direct Measure 2: This objective was met. Of the seniors in this program, 95.5% received adequate or above on the capstone course rubrics.

Summary of Results from Implementing Indirect Measures of Student Learning:

1. Summary of Results for Indirect Measure 1: This objective was met. Of the seniors taking the exit exam, 87% rated the overall quality of their program as good or excellent. When rating faculty teaching, 85.7% rated it as good or excellent.

Objective (Target/Criterion) for Measure/Method 1

Seventy percent or more of seniors on the exit survey will indicate that

the quality of their program and their instruction was “satisfactory”,

“exceeds expectations” or “outstanding” for the Fall 2015 exit survey.

Seventy percent or more of seniors on the revised exit survey for

Spring 2016 will indicate the quality of their program and instruction,

or faculty teaching, as “good’ or “excellent”.

2. Operational Assessment Measure/Method 2: Faculty Qualification

Intended Operational Outcomes Assessed by this Measure: 2

Objective (Target/Criterion) for Measure/Method 2 Eighty percent or more of division faculty will be doctorally or

professionally qualified in their discipline areas.

Intended Operational Outcomes Assessed by this Measure: 4 Seventy percent or more of the Advisory Committee members will

respond on the Advisory Committee survey that our graduates and

interns provide skills that are adequate or higher in the workplace and

meet the needs of the local business community.

Summary of Results from Implementing Operational Assessment Measures/Methods:

1. Summary of Results for Measure/Method 1: This bencharmark was met. Of the seniors taking the exit exam, 87% rated the overall quality of their program as good or excellent. When rating faculty teaching, 85.7% rated it as good or excellent.

2. Summary of Results for Measure/Method 2: This benchark was met. One hundred percent of the division faculty were doctorally or professionally

qualified in their areas.

3. Summary of Results for Measure/Method 3: This benchmark was met. According to the follow-up survey of LCSC graduates for 2016 – 2017, 64% reported being employed in a job related to training and 14% reported they are pursing additional eudcation.

4. Summary of Results for Measure/Method 4: This benchmark was met. In the survey conducted at the August 2018 advisory board meeting, 100% of the advistoary board memebers rated our interns and graduates at adequate or above in all areas that included, knowledge of the functional areas of business, oral and written communication, critical thinking, use of technology, and teamwork.
