Title of Activity: Constitution Day Programme: Oath of Preamble

R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur celebrated with enthusiasm on 26th
November as Constitution Day. Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated
in India on 26th
November every year to commemorate the adoption of Constitution of India. On
26th
November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it
came into effect on 26th
January 1950.
The photograph of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was garlanded at the auspicious hands of
Hon. Prin. Dr. D. K. Mhaske. All the HoDs, teaching staff, non-teaching staff and the students
of college were present on this occasion.
Dr. N. C. Pawar and Dr. A. S. Dalwi took efforts for the success. NSS students
participated actively in the programme.

R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur, successfully organized a rally to make
public aware of HIV/AIDS, college students and staff used handmade posters, slogans and flex
to make the public aware, by pasting Red Ribbon on 01/12/2014 on college campus.
Prin. Dr. D. K. Mhaske, in his speech said that HIV caused AIDS and interfered with the
body’s ability to fight infection. If detected early, a regular consultation and proper treatment
help in fighting infection and allows a patient to live long.
Teaching and non-teaching staff members, students actively participated in the
programme. NSS programme officers Dr. N. C. Pawar and Dr. A. S. Dalvi took great efforts to
conduct programme smoothly. NSS students participated actively in the programme.

On 01/12/2014, R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur, successfully
completed the event of Tree Plantation under the National Service Scheme at college campus.
The Volunteers initially dig out and then planted trees.
The plantation programme was inaugurated by planting a gulmohar tree by Hon.
Chairman, Raosaheb Shinde, Prin. Dr. D. K. Mhaske, The teaching and non-teaching staff
members, students actively participated in the programme and total 50 trees have planted.
NSS programme officers Dr. N. C. Pawar and Dr. A. S. Dalwi took great efforts to
conduct programme smoothly. NSS students participated actively in the programme.
7 Days NSS Camp Activities 2014-15
The 7 days NSS Camp was conducted by R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur NSS
unit on 11th

NSS unit, R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur organized a special camp in
the adopted village, Bramhangaon Vetal from 11th
to 17th
December 2014. The Volunteers of the
NSS unit performed Construction of Check Dam in Adopted Village Bramhangaon Vetal.
Importance of the Activity: A check dam is a small, sometimes temporary, dam
constructed across a swale, Drainage ditch, or waterway to counteract erosion by reducing water
flow velocity. Check dams themselves are not a type of new technology; rather, they are an
ancient technique dating all the way back to the second century A.D. Check dams are typically,
though not always, implemented as a system of several check dams situated at regular intervals
across the area of interest.NSS programme officers Dr. N. C. Pawar and Dr. A. S. Dalwi,
Assistant took great efforts to conduct programme smoothly. NSS students participated actively
in the programme.

NSS unit, R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur organized Socio-Eco Survey
in adopted Village at Bramhangaon Vetal with the provided questionnaire, dated on
15/12/2014.
Socio-economic survey was designed to collect information as a means of improving
understanding of local resource management systems. Survey also provided information on
interaction with the government decision-making systems and community perceptions of
trends and priority issues. Knowledge about community-based institutions was also obtained.
NSS programme officers Dr. A. S. Dalwi and Dr. N. C. Pawar took efforts for the same.
The Volunteers of the NSS unit participated actively.

NSS Unit, R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur organized Social Awareness
Through ‘Kirtan’ in adopted Village at Bramhangaon Vetal on 16/12/2014.
Kirtan or Kirtana (Sanskrit: कीर्तन) is a Sanskrit word that means "narrating, reciting,
telling, describing" of an idea or story. It also refers to a genre of religious performance arts,
connoting a musical form of narration or shared recitation, particularly of spiritual or religious
ideas.
Prin. Dr. D. K. Mhaske was present with the villagers. He acknowledged the support of
the villagers. NSS programme Officer, Dr. A. S. Dalwi and Dr. N. C. Pawar took efforts for
the same. The Volunteers of the NSS unit participated actively.
