Birth Anniversary of Padma Bhushan Dr Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil was celebrated on

22/09/2017 at R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur with great enthusiasm. The

statue of Dr Bhaurao Patil was garlanded at the auspicious hands of Hon. Mr Hanmantrao

Gaikwad (BVG Group), Hon. Sou. Minatai Jagdhane, President, Rayat S. Sankul Shrirampur.

Hon. Mr Hanmantrao Gaikwad said that Dr Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil was born in

Kumbhoj, Kolhapur. He was a social activist and educator in Maharashtra, India. He founded

Rayat Shikshan Sanstha. Dr Karmaveer played an important role in educating backward castes

and low income people by coining the philosophy earn and learn. The people of Maharashtra

honoured him with the ‘Karmaveer’ (King of actions) and the Government of India awarded

him with Padma Bhushan in 1959 in India.

Haemoglobin Check up Camp dated on 25/01/2018.

The blood sample was sent to a lab for analysis. Then Students returned to their usual

activities. It was informed to the students that the normal range of haemoglobin:

For men, 13.5 to 17.5 grams per decilitre

For women, 12.0 to 15.5 grams per decilitre

also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to

commemorate the adoption of Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent

Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950.

rally to make public aware about HIV/AIDS. College students and staff used handmade posters,

slogans and flex for the public awareness in Shrirampur City.

Prin. Dr K. H. Shinde, while addressing to the audience, said that HIV caused AIDS and

interfered with the body’s ability to fight infection. If detected early, a regular consultation and

proper treatment help in fighting infection and allows a patient to live long.

On 12/12/2017, R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur, successfully

completed the event of Tree Plantation under the National Service Scheme on college campus.

The Volunteers initially dig out and then planted trees.

The plantation programme is inaugurated by planting a gulmohar tree by our Hon. Prin.

Sankranti festival by distributing Til- Gul on 15/01/2018.

Makar Sankranti is a huge cultural event in several parts of India making it one of the

most vibrant festivals of the country. Maharashtra is one of the states that celebrate Makar

Sankranti with great enthusiasm and devotion. Til gul is one of the main food items that mark the

festivities during Makar Sankranti in Maharashtra. These little sweet balls made from sesame

seeds and jiggery. It is exchanged between friends and family members on the occasion on the

auspicious event. This exchange is often accompanied by saying out the phrase "til gul ghya, god

god bola" which roughly translates to "have til gul, speak sweetly".

part of the drive where through cultural and artistic events; they spread awareness about the right

Title of Activity: Lecture on Cancer and Health Date: 06/02/2018

NSS, R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur, successfully organized a

lecture on Cancer and Health. Dr Lalit Bansal was the chief guest.

Dr Lalit Bansal talked that Cancer is an abnormal growth of cells. It is also called as

malignancy. There are more than 100 types of cancer, including breast cancer, skin cancer, lung

cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and lymphoma. He informed that Cancer treatment may

include chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.

The awareness about Cancer and Health was successfully conducted under the guidance

of the college Prin., Dr K. H. Shinde. NSS programme officers Dr S. P. Khilari, Dr D. D. Shende

and Dr S. R. Chavan took great efforts to conduct programme smoothly. The teaching, non-

challenges that India is facing today. High mortality rates are subjected to poor health care

facilities in the rural areas of India. More than 70% of India’s population is living under the roof

of rural setup. These poorly established houses experience lack of proper supply of water and

electricity. They manage to get a little water from far away distant places in order to proceed

Dr K. H. Shinde talked on Goods and Services Tax (GST). He said that Goods and

Services Tax (GST) is an indirect tax levied on the supply of goods and services. This law has

replaced many indirect tax laws that previously existed in India. He continued by saying that the

Goods and Services Tax Act was passed in the Parliament on 29th

March 2017. The Act came
