African Regional On-line Seminar; June 1st 2017 to July 3rd 2017

Title: The Eternal Sun

The African e-Seminar titled “Eternal Sun” was held on the occasion of the 23rd

anniversary of the demise of the great President KIM IL SUNG.

We would like to begin by expressing our highest respect to President KIM IL SUNG who

lives forever in the hearts of progressive peoples all over the world as the eternal sun of

Juche for his undying exploits performed for the Korean revolution and the cause of

global independence.

On this occasion, we reminiscence with deep emotion the great life and immortal exploits

of President KIM IL SUNG, the extraordinary thinker and theoretician and the outstanding

statesman of the 20th century.

The greatest of all exploits of President KIM IL SUNG is that he put forward Juche idea,

the guiding idea of the era of independence, to illuminate the correct way for the

independent development and prosperity of humankind.

The Juche idea, which clarified that popular masses are the master and the driving force

of revolution and construction, enabled the people under exploitation and oppression for

ages to become aware of their own capability and status and take the position of masters

of the times, revolution and history.

The Korean people, armed with the Juche and Songun ideas put forward by the President,

waged arduous struggle relying on their own strength to liberate the country from the

Japanese imperialists who boasted of being the “leader” of Asia and won the historic

victory in the 3-year war against the US-led imperialists.

The Juche idea initiated and developed by President KIM IL SUNG is being accepted by

the world progressive people aspiring after freedom and liberation as the universal truth

for the emancipation of mankind.

President KIM IL SUNG is the great statesman and leader who led the Korean revolution

and the cause of global independence by applying Juche idea into practice. He advanced

revolutionary theories, strategies and tactics suiting the specific condition of Korea

according to the principles of the Juche idea. By implementing them, he set an example of

the century for anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution, building a new society,

socialist revolution and construction.

Thus, the DPR Korea, once a backward colonial agrarian country and reduced to ashes

during the war, worked a miracle of effecting industrialization in a short period of 14

years and has turned into a world envying independent, self-reliant and self-defensive

power.

Theories and methods for revolution and construction which he formulated and applied

all the way through the Korean revolution serve as a textbook to be followed by all

countries and nations aspiring for freedom and liberation.

President KIM IL SUNG is the eternal sun of Juche who advanced Juche idea to illuminate

the way for accomplishing the cause of global independence and extended firm support

to the struggle of world progressive peoples.

With noble international obligations, he offered unsparing aid to a lot of countries for

their independence and the building of new societies. Even in difficult situations under

constant threats of war and blockades, he offered huge quantity of food and aid materials

to African people facing shortage of food and poverty. He also taught that African

countries should count on their own strength and pursue the way of self-reliance while

receiving aid. Thanks to his wise and energetic teachings and selfless aid, the era of

sovereignty, independence and prosperity opened up in Africa, hitherto labeled as the

dark continent.

The idea and cause of President KIM IL SUNG was faithfully carried forward by the leader

KIM JONG IL.

Leader KIM JONG IL safeguarded the dignity and sovereignty of the country and nation,

laid solid foundation of the great Paektusan nation, and made a huge contribution to

securing world peace by building upon the original Songun politics based on Songun idea

advanced by President KIM IL SUNG.

In 1990s, after the demise of President KIM IL SUNG, Korea suffered consecutive natural

disasters. Furthermore, with the collapse of socialism in Eastern European socialist

countries, the maneuvers of imperialist allied forces to isolate and stifle DPR Korea

reached extreme levels. In such grim situation, that Korea safeguarded its ideology and

system and launched its first artificial satellite is a historic miracle which other nations

found difficult to attain.

The visits of head of powers to Pyongyang and the North-South Summit, the first of its

kind in Korean history since 2000 demonstrated to the international community that DPR

Korea has taken the position of world power which in turn aroused admiration for the

extraordinary leadership of leader KIM JONG IL. That is why the world’s progressive

people visited the secret camp of Mt. Paektu, the birthplace of H.E. KIM JONG IL on his

60th birth anniversary in February 2002.

Today the great lives and feats of the President KIM IL SUNG and leader KIM JONG IL are

being solidified by His Excellency supreme leader KIM JONG UN. It is the firm resolution

of His Excellency KIM JONG UN to continuously follow the way of independence, Songun

and socialism that was pioneered and covered by the former leaders.

Nowadays, the DPR Korea is displaying its might as the responsible nuclear state, Juche-

oriented nuclear power, with tremendous national capability including the possession of

H-bomb. DPR Korea is smashing nuclear threat and blackmail, high-handed and arbitrary

acts of the imperialists and thus contributing to the establishment of the right world

order.

In DPR Korea the people-first principle is maintained as the steadfast policy of the Party

and the state. The whole state capabilities were focused on recovery work in flood

afflicted areas and lecturers, researchers and ordinary people got free access to the

world-class luxurious apartments in Ryomyong Street. Such unbelievable happenings are

accepted as normal and natural in the DPR Korea.

Under the leadership of His Excellency KIM JONG UN, the DPR Korea has attained high

authority in international arena as the bulwark of socialism, fortress of anti-imperialist

independence and spokesperson of justice and truth.

The current e-seminar and the forthcoming 5th International Festival in praise of Great

Persons of Mt. Paektu to be held in August will demonstrate the unanimous wish and

desire of the progressive peoples of the world who hold the great President KIM IL SUNG

and leader KIM JONG IL as the eternal sun of Juche and Songun and H.E. KIM JONG UN as

the sun who leads to victory the cause of global independence of the 21st century.

Participating in the event are international, regional and national preparatory committees for Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, persons and groups from various African countries, and the DPR Korea Ambassador to Nigeria and the staff of his embassy. A letter to the Respected Supreme Leader, Kim Jong Un was adopted during the seminar and sent along with this annexure.
