Description of Activity or Trip / Descripción de la Actividad o Viaje: Climbing on an artificialclimbing wall or on a natural rock wall entails known and unanticipated risks, this could result inphysical or emotional injury, paralysis, death, or damage to me, to property, or to third parties. Iunderstand that such risks simply cannot be eliminated without jeopardizing the essential qualities ofthe activity.

The risks include, among other things: falling off the wall, loose and/or damaged artificial folds ornatural rock; rented equipment failure;falling to the ground, on other users, or being fallen on by otherusers; abrasions from the walls, ropes, pads, or the floor; equipment failure; belay and/or belayer failure; climbing out of control or beyond one’s personal limits; the negligence of other climbers, visitor,participants, or other persons who may be present; musculoskeletal injuries and/or over training; headinjuries; or my own negligence.

Location/Lugar: Student Recreation CenterI, the above named Participant, am eighteen yearsof age or older and have voluntarily applied toparticipate in the above-referenced Activity or Trip.I acknowledge that the nature of the Activity or Tripmay expose me to hazards or risks that may resultin my illness, personal injury or death and I understand and appreciate the nature of suchhazards and risks.

In consideration of my participation in the Activity orTrip, I hereby accept all risk to my health and of myinjury or death that may result from suchparticipation and I hereby release The University ofTexas at El Paso, its governing board, officers,employees and representatives from any liability tome, my personal representatives, estate, heirs, next of kin, and assigns for any and all claims andcauses of action for loss of or damage to my property and for any and all illness or injury to myperson, including my death, that may result from oroccur during my participation in the Activity or Trip,whether caused by negligence of the University, its
