The second Regional Critical Care Conference will be held at The Capital Theatre and Town Hall in Bendigo, Victoria on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 June 2016.

After the success of the first Regional Critical Care Conference in 2015, we are excited that with the support of excellent presenters and our trade exhibitors we will build this into the finest critical care conference offered in regional Australia. The theme of the conference this year is, Timing is Everything: Early Interventions in Critical Illness. A theme based on the importance of timing will focus on life and limb saving support and interventions that provide the best patient outcomes. We sincerely hope you can join us for this innovative and exciting conference.

ABOUT:

THE CONFERENCE

REGIONAL CRITICAL CARE 2016

In June 2016, Bendigo Health will stage the second Regional Critical Care Conference. The two day conference will feature keynotes speakers, plenary and concurrent sessions, free papers, workshops and a conference dinner. A fundamental principle of critical care is to provide timely interventions.

The theme of the 2016 conference reflects this critical factor - Timing is Everything: Early Interventions in Critical Illness. Sessions topics include sepsis, trauma, neurology, resuscitation, paediatrics and much more.

Catering will be provided amongst the trade exhibition in the spacious Banquet Room in The Capital Theatre complex. This will encourage interaction between exhibitors and delegates. Advertising will be extensive and will include members of the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses, the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society as well as Victorian public and private healthcare organisations providing critical care services.

To ensure a diverse and extensive audience is approached, hospitals in southern New South Wales will also be directly contacted.

Located approximately 150km North of Melbourne, Bendigo is a major regional city with a population of over 100,000. Bendigo has a rich history, stemming from the gold rush era in the 1850s. From its botanic gardens, art gallery and historical buildings, connection to the Chinese community to wineries and food; Bendigo has many attractions for visitors.

This diversity and proximity to Melbourne has seen Bendigo rise to become the fastest growing regional city in Victoria. The Loddon Mallee region occupies more than a quarter of Victoria and with one of the most consistently warm climates in the state, people flock to the region for the waterways of Lake Eppalock and the Murray River, along with acclaimed restaurants and wineries, heritage towns and grand forests.

THE CAPITAL THEATRE

REGIONAL CRITICAL CARE 2016

The Regional Critical Care Conference will be held at Bendigo’s majestic Capital Theatre. Originally built as the Masonic Hall in the late 1800s.

The Capital Theatre is arguably the most ornate building in the city. The building is faced with six Corinthian pillars rising 10 metres in height and boasts a frontage of 60 metres approached by historic bluestone steps.

Sessions will take place in the main theatre, the Bendigo Bank theatre and the Engine Room. Trade exhibition and catering will be located in the spacious Banquet Room. The Capital Theatre is located on View Street in the heart of Bendigo, with ample reasonably priced parking at the rear of the building.

Amongst the memorials and things of fame that bring renown to the City of Bendigo few, if any, bear such honourable, enduring and stately testimony to the wealth and magnificence of the city, as does the Capital

Theatre in View Street.
