CURSO DE VERANO 2016 - FAQs
What is Curso de Verano? Curso de Verano is an immersion and formation experience in Pastoral Juvenil that is coordinated by diocesan directors of pastoral juvenil hispana (PJH) from throughout Region XI (California, Nevada, and Hawaii). What is Pastoral Juvenil Hispana (PJH)? -Hispanic Youth & Young Adult Ministry When and where will it take place? June 9-12, 2016
Starts around 6:30pm Thursday, ends noon Sunday

Who can attend? All participants should be 18 years of age or older. Participants should be active leaders in a pastoral juvenil program. Our English track is also available for youth, young adult, and campus ministry leaders to learn ministry with Hispanic youth and young adults. How much does it cost? Cost is $200 per person.
This includes 3 meals on Friday, 3 meals on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday.
Are there scholarships available? The Diocese of Sacramento will pay 1/3 of each participant’s registration fee, and we encourage parishes/movement to pay for 1/3 of their participant’s registration fee as well. With this cost split, the participant only needs to be 1/3 of the fee. Note – it is up to the participant to request a scholarship from their parish or movement. We would be happy to provide you with some type of letter or more information about the program to supply to your parish if needed. What is the content covered? There are 3 different tracks offered:
1) Basic Track – Spanish a. For servers with 1-2 years of experience b. Covers the fundamentals of PJH
2) Advanced Track – Spanish a. For servers with 3+ years of experience b. Digs deeper into the accompaniment of Hispanic young people
3) English Track a. For leaders interested in learning more about serving Hispanic youth & young adult populations b. Covers the fundamentals of ministry with Hispanic youth & young adults
The event structure includes talks, workshops, prayer, liturgy, music, and socials!

¿Que es Curso de Verano? Curso de Verano es un evento de formación en Pastoral Juvenil que es coordinado RECOSS (Region Eleven Committee on Spanish Speaking). ¿Cuando y donde se realizara? 9-12 Junioe, 2016
Empieza a las 6:30pm el jueves, termina mediodia el domingo

¿Quién puede asistir? Participantes deben ser mayores de edad (18+) y ser lideres activos en algún ministerio de jóvenes. El track de ingles es para personas que quieren aprender mas acerca del ministerio con jóvenes latinos. ¿Cuanto cuesta? El costo es $200 por person. Esto incluye 3 comidas el viernes, 3 el sábado, y desayuno el domingo. ¿Hay ayuda financiera disponible? La Diócesis de Sacramento cubrirá 1/3 de la inscripción de cada participante de nuestra diócesis. Invitamos a las parroquias a cubrir también un 1/3 de la inscripción para sus participantes. Con esta colaboración, el participante solo tendrá que cubrir 1/3 del costo. Es responsabilidad del participante pedir ayuda a su parroquia o movimiento. Si necesita proveer una carta o mas información acerca del programa, se lo daremos con gusto. ¿Cual es el contenido de Curso de Verano? Hay 3 diferentes “tracks”.
