Look at the Riddles Powerpoint attached (On seesaw) and see if you can guess the animal they are describing. Now can you create your own like this one? I am known as a king The Savanna is where I reign It is hard to tame me And I have a large mane or I like to use my long tongue To eat leaves from tops of trees I don’t have to climb up though With my long neck it’s a breeze

You can do it any way you like or use the stripy scarves sheet attached. Can you make it trickier by repeating more than two colours

Can you create a traditional African inspired necklace? You could use a paper plate/ paper/ painted pasta/beads/ clay. We would love to see a picture.

or Can you use the animal spotting sheet and see if you can move like each animal. Can you stretch like a giraffe, run like an ostrich, slither like a snake.

Distance Learning Project

We thought we would set a little project for anyone who wants something continuous to dip in and out of as the weeks of distance learning continue. This is NOT something that you need to do at all if you don’t want to or don’t have the time. However we are aware that the demand of work for the children differs greatly from family to family so we wanted you to have the option to do more if you wanted.

A Project About Animals

We would like you to research and present information about animals. It could be one animal, a group of animals or a habitat of animals, the choice is yours. You can present your information in any way you like but we would love to see facts, writing, drawings, creative models and anything else you want to add in. We would expect this to take weeks and when you are finished you could video or take pictures of what you have learned. You could use information books or ask an adult to help you use the internet. Twinkl has a lot of information including craft animal ideas you may want to use to help with your presentation. Happy researching and we look forward to seeing what you learn. Again there is zero pressure to do this. Keep safe and sane!
