Solid-State Circuits Society Newsletter 7 T he list of most cited JSSC arti- cles has been updated with a 58% increase in since the last 2003 update. The list, dubbed Clas- sics, includes all JSSC articles cited by authors more than 100 times accord- ing to Thomson ISI, a publisher noted for presenting quantifiable sta- tistical data that provides a systemat- ic, objective way to evaluate the world's leading journals and their impact and influence in the global research community. Each highly cited JSSC article title in the list is linked directly to the abstract and full text in IEEE Xplore. Recently added articles are labeled in the online list. In 2003 there were just 24 articles and only one from as recently as the 90s, Chandrakasan, Sheng and Brodersen’s Low-power CMOS dig- ital design published in 1992. Today there are 38 papers cited more than 100 times. Seven articles published in the 1990s are now on this list. For the first time there are primary authors having two articles on the list; those are by Barrie Gilbert and Takayasu Sakurai. The most recent additions to the top-cited list are from 1998; one by AdCom members Ali Hajimiri and Thomas Lee, “A general theory of phase noise in electrical oscillators” and another by C.Patrcik Yue and S. Simon Wong, “On-chip spiral induc- tors with patterned ground shields for SI-based RF ICs.” From 1997 there is global posi- tioning article describing a low noise amplifier at 1.5-v 1.5 Ghz by Derek K. Shaeffer and Thomas Lee. From 1995, Asad Abidi pub- lished “Direct-conversion radio transceiver for digital communica- tions.” In 1993 David Su along with Loinaz, Masui, and Wooley published "Experimental results and modeling techniques for sub- strate noise in mixed-signal inte- grated circuits.” Two papers from 1990 include Nhat M. Nguyen and Robert Meyer’s “Si IC-compatible inductors and LC passive filters,” and K. Yano et al. from Hitachi on A 3.8-ns CMOS 16 x 16-b multiplier using complemen- tary pass-transistor logic. IEEE Adds 1,700 Papers from European Solid-StateCircuits and Device Conferences to Online Collection

The IEEE has posted online ver-sions of more than 1,700 papersfrom Europe's flagship confer-
