What does the bible have to say about roots?

One thought that come to my mind is from the book of Proverbs:

A man shall not be established by wickedness; but the root of the righteous shall not be moved. Proverbs 12:3

There are also these 2 popular principles from the New Testament.

So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, Ephesians 3:17

AND

Rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:7

Are we too pragmatic?

Is there a surface understanding of rooted and grounded in Christ, but deep down, we’d in some ways rather not embrace the real type of changes in our lives that would bring the

to the body of Christ that God has always intended there to be. We can be more rooted in our leadership, our denominations or organizations, our race or any other number of things than we are in Christ.

What if the “hims” or “hers” that we sing in church ( things we say about our leadership) are sung with more passion & enthusiasm

than the hymns that we sing about the Lord. Is the root wrong?

Are there too many roots?

Didn’t Paul say we preach not ourselves but Christ?

Many people are more interested in being conformed to the image of another man or woman than being conformed to the image of Christ.

Bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor. (portion of Isa 61:3)

What the Lord has given us

So let’s focus properly and stay determined.
