On average, 18 people take their own life each day. Our free, confidential, and anonymous helpline and webchat service operates every day of the year, 5pm to midnight, for anyone in the UK who is feeling down or depressed. Through our campaigns and engagement activities, CALM aims to change culture so that people feel able to seek help before they reach a point of crisis, and family and friends feel better able to support each other. ABOUT THE ROLE CALM is looking for a Management Accountant, who along with our external accountants and auditors will have responsibility for ensuring our accounts are accurate, uptodate and visible. This is an essential role within the organisation that will work in partnership with the Fundraising Director, Office Manager and external accountants to streamline, modernise and evolve our ways of working as we transition our accounts on to Xero from Sage. ● Ensure that all the reporting deadline targets are met – VAT returns, PAYE payments etc. 

● Ensure bank account is reconciled weekly and queries followed-up in time. 

● Ensure petty cash accounts are reconciled weekly. 

● Perform ad-hoc cost analysis requested by the management. 

● Process monthly payment runs per agreed payment terms. 

● Ensure creditors accounts are reconciled monthly. 

● Identify and analyse trends and key performance indicators. 

● Coach and mentor new recruits on new processes and create those new processes 

● Conduct meetings with teams every month to ensure the smooth running of finances and give 

constructive feedback  

● Work directly with Directors as part of a growing business 

● Support Directors and Budget holders to develop efficient financial reporting 

● Close department working to identify income sources  

● Other ad-hoc duties.

● Comfortable supporting us as we move towards Agile ways of working and a quick learner 

● Able to confidently manage, monitor and report 

● A hands on ‘do-er’ who will roll their sleeves up to keep things moving along smoothly 

● A problem solver with an analytical yet pragmatic mindset 

● A positive, upbeat team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
