QUIZZES IN CANVAS Quizzes in Canvas allow the instructor to create questions for grading or practice, or surveys for grading or non-grading. Questions can be c reated using these differ ent types of questio ns: Multiple Choice; True/False; Fill In the Blank; Fill in Multiple Blanks; Multiple Answers; Multipl e Dropdowns, Matching, Numerica l Answer, Formula Question, Missing Word, and Essay Question. The instructor also has the option of presenting text with no questions, to be used for instructions or to present a story or case study to the student. Quizzes can be created as a practice quiz, a graded quiz, a graded survey or an ungraded survey. Instruct ors can choose to shuffle the answers when presenting questions to a student . They can also choose to time the quiz or not, allow students to see their quiz results, show correct answers, allow multiple attempts, and require an access code for the quiz. They also may choose the due date, and lock the quiz before and after certain dates. A preview option for the quiz is available . QUIZ OPTIONS To create a quiz: Click on Quizzes, then click on Create a New Quiz.

5.  LET STUDENTS SEE THEIR QUIZ RESULTS 

a.  Y ou can allow students to see their quiz results, with or without seeing the correct 

answers.

b.  If you allow multiple attempts, you can decide if the student can see the correct 

answers during the multiple attempts or only after the last attempt possible. Y ou

can also decide what quiz score to keep.

6.  REQUIRE AN ACCESS CODE FOR THIS QUIZ

a.  Y ou can add an access code for the quiz. No one can take the quiz without first 

entering the access code.7.  DUE DATE

a.  The date the quiz is due.

8.  LOCKED UNTIL

a.  The date the quiz is unlocked so it can be taken.

9.  LOCKED AFTER 

a.  The date after which the quiz is locked again so it is unavailable.

10. POINTS POSSIBLE

a.  The points possible are automatically tallied as you create the individual questions

in the Quiz.

11. PREVIEW THE QUIZ 

a.  This allows you to preview the questions before or after you publish the Quiz

12. SAVE SETTINGS 

a.  This saves the Quiz settings

13. PUBLISH QUIZ 

a.  This publishes the Quiz so that students can see it. There is no unpublish feature

after it has been published.

14. ADD A NEW QUESTION 

a.  This question allows the teacher to add a new question to the Quiz.

with the green comment box. Y ou can write comments

in the comment box that show when the student gets

the right answer.

Incorrect answers go in

the boxes next to the

black text with the redcomment box.

Choose the point value.
