Walks and excurcions around Quimper
LOCRONAN, medieval city
Locronan is a small town of 800 inhabitants that welcomes approximately 400 000 visitors
every year. It has been classified as a historical village since 1924 and belongs to the
association of the "Most Beautiful Villages of France" and is labeled "Small City of Character
in Britain" because of its rich architectural heritage.
The paved central place with a well, the vast church of St. Ronan, the granite Renaissance
houses, will transport you back to medieval times. Many shops and craft shops open their
doors to the visitors, as well as several restaurants and crêperies.
The visit of Locronan is not reserved only to movie stars, although many movies have been
filmed there ...
BENODET, seaside resort Located by the sea, Benodet is an ideal place to
relax and have fun.
The thalassotherapy center offers a saltwater pool
32°, relaxing massages etc…
You’ll love the casino with its various game rooms,
slot machines, poker, table games. (The entrance to
the casino is for adults with an identity card.)
There is also a cinema, bars and restaurants. You
can enjoy water sports such as sailing and
kayaking.

ÎLE-TUDY
You’ll love Ile Tudy with its narrow streets, typical low houses built back to the sea and its 3
km beach ... It is a pleasant seaside resort. A short walk among the trees and flowers,
Sainte Marine Port invites you to take the time for a break.
It is on the island Tudy, that Tudy, also called Tugdual, landed in the 5th century. He founded
his first hermitage there before building a monastery in Loctudy. At the time, Ile Tudy really
was an island . Life was hard , and at each storm, the village was covered with sand and salt
water. In the 19th century, the island became Tudy peninsula after a causeway was built on
the dyke and then attracted wealthy people and artists.
CONCARNEAU, the blue city
The city was formed in the Middle Ages from the walled city located in the estuary of the
Moros. This natural shelter allowed the development of the seventh French fishing port with
its major shipyards.
From Concarneau you can also embark on a tour of the
Glénan archipel, made up of seven islands surrounded by
clear waters and white sandy beaches. You will think you
are in a tropical paradise!
