    INTRODUCTION

    puzzle There arepuzzles on nearly every page ofPuzzle Time 2!

    verb 10 run, to talk, to like are verbs.vowels Vowels are the letters A, E, L 0 and U.New wordsYou have to learn a lot of words when you learn a Ian-guage.These ideas will help you.1 Write new words in a notebook. You can write a differ-

    ent word family (see puzzle 6) on each page. Write theEnglish word and then write the same word in your lan-guage next to it. Use each word in a short sentence:dollar M Y new jacket costfifty dollars.

    2 When you read a story or something in your Englishbook, learn ten or ftfteen important words from it. Thentry to write the story again. Use the new words andother easy words.

    3 Work with a friend. Write twenty or thirty new wordson small pieces of paper. Put them into a box or anenvelope. Take two words from the box and use themin a sentence. Then your friend takes two words andmakes a sentence. Use every word from the box!

    4 Learn some new words and write your own puzzle withthose words. (The puzzles in this book will give yousome ideas.) Then give your puzzle to your friend. He orshe writes the answers in the puzzle.
