    ConsultationswithPAPmemberssuggestthatPAPstrengthsarethegrowingnumberof

    psychologists,theexistenceofboththeLicensureandcertificationofspecialization,the

    presenceofcontinuingeducationalprograms,conventions,collegialityamongmembers/

    hardworkingBoard,membersquicktovolunteer/respondtocrisisandcollaborationand

    linkageswithotherprofessionsandinternationalprofessionalorganizationsandthecontinued

    professionalizationoftheorganizations.

    Yet,thereisalsoarecognitionontheareasweneedtoworkon:theunevendistributionof

    psychologistsinthecountry,lackofindigenousresearch,tools,frameworks,uneven

    productivityinresearch,alackofregionalrepresentationinthePAPboard,

    involvement/impactonpoliciesandregulationrelatedtomentalhealth,alackofrecognition

    ofextensionworkincertificationandinconsistentdivisionleadership.

    AlthoughPsychologyisnotyetregulatedinotherASEANcountries,theASEANintegration

    providesopportunitiesfordeliveringservicesinothercountries.

    TheshifttotheK-12educationalsystemwillrequireachangeinwhatandhowweteach.

    Thereisstillalackofpublicawarenessandunderstandingofpsychology.Wearealsofaced

    withlimitedresourcesespeciallyamonggovernmentschoolsanduniversitieswithrespectto

    researchandfacultydevelopment.
