PSCIFE – Physical Sciences Club for Information Fun and Education PSCIFE got a logo for itself as an identity this year, which delivers in colors, shapes and

meaning to live up to its expectations.

Pscife Activities: PSCIFE this year had lot of additions. Its growth as a club and the amount of activities it

has to its name is immense.

The PSCIFE aimed to conduct more competitions in the year 2017-18 as compared to the year before. Various activities were conducted like Science Crossword, Word

Building, Brain teaser, Learn and share and Connectivity.

ACTIVITIES 2017-18:

Valedictory

The year 2017-18 for PSCIFE ended on a beautifully high note, the whole event colored with the shades of red and black

and memories spelled out through photographs. An occasion to summarize the joyful times and events spent through

the physical sciences club. A formal report was presented by the club coordinator and anchoring head Sweety Singh of

MSCS 3b and the annual report was presented by the coordinator M.Akhila , songs were sung to brighten up the

moment. The Principal Prof. Y Ashok sir, Vice Principal Mrs Niraimathi ma'am and HOD mathematics Dr. K. Vasudev Rao

sir expressed their views and applauded the journey of our club- PSCIFE, and then prizes were distributed. The function

came to an end with refreshments being served and smiles being spread.

A Visit to Spoorthi Foundation

On behalf of Seva Vibhag , The PSCIFE members went to Spoorthi Foundation (Orphanage) –Dundigal, around 25km

from college. We interacted with the children around the campus and provided arrangements for lunch. Then we

divided ourselves into various groups and conducted events and seminars till evening. The beautiful day came to an end

with the distribution of gifts and chocolates to all the children.

Learn and Share:

The next event of PSCIFE was an interactive session between the seniors and the junior called “Learn and Share”. Here, the seniors selected a subject and taught and shared

their knowledge on the subject for the benefit of the juniors. The focus was not just on the subject matter but also on the applications of the subject in the real world. This is an

annual event where the seniors meet the juniors in a classroom and give a small lecture or seminar of sorts.

This was conducted on the 17 of January. Akhila and Sweety of MSCs 3B, Nidhi Kumari and Meghana of MPCs 3 and Pallavi and Hema shared their knowledge with the first

years.

Test Your Friendship Bond:

On the 6 of January 2018, PSCIFE club conducted its next exciting and amusing event called “Test Your Friendship Bond” consisting of five rounds. This event focused on

testing the bond between two friends. They were asked to team up in a twos. Each round focused on how two best friends were in sync with each other. And the last round

was for them to speak about their friend for a minute without a pause.

The runners were Sonam of MPCs 2B and Pratibha of MSCs 2B and the winners were Neelam and Komal from MPCs 2B.

Run till the Last Second:

On the 11 of December 2018 PSCIFE club conducted its next exciting event named “Run

till the Last Second” consisting of two rounds. This event focussed on combining the brains needed to solve riddles and the co-ordination required to run with three legs.

That‟s right, this is a team event. The teams were required to be a pair. The first round was a three legged race, where all the teams had to run to the “finish line” where their

goal awaited… packed neatly in a balloon. The participants had to pluck the balloon off a rope, blast it with their feet and then crack the riddle inside. The quicker they cracked

the riddles, the higher their chances of progressing to the second round. A total of 25 teams participated out of which 6 teams moved on to the second round. The second

round was a blind folded race where one partner guided the other blind folded partner to

pick up a number of objects.

The winners were chosen based on the time they took to complete this round. The runner up team was Nidhi and Shilpa of MPCs 3rd year and the winner were Aman and

Neeraj from MECs IB.

The Logo Quiz:

The PSCIFE club of Bhavan‟s Vivekananda College organised an event called "The Logo

Quiz" on 18 November 2017. Around 20 teams participated from which 10 qualified for the second round out of which 2 top teams would be selected. Throughout the

competition there was a feel of enthusiasm and excitement among the participants.

On 26 August 2017, the PSCIFE club of Bhavans Degree college organized a

competition to bring out the unique and innovative ideas of the students. It was open for all the streams and the 15 teams participated and mesmerized the audience with their

'out of the box' imaginations.

Battle of Wits:

An event that got all the brain cells of the smart participants thrashing "The Battle of

Wits" was held on 12 August 2017 from 2:30 to 3:30.The event witnessed a whooping number of 20 and more teams consisting of 2 participants each who had to hammer

their intellect to solve a set of 5 sharp witted questions with each question twisting and turning their thinking ability into different directions of aptitude and logic. Calling it a

mere event would be an understatement as it was an extravaganza of mental talent and enthusiasm.

Poster Making Competition:

On 22 July 2017, the PSCIFE club of Bhavans Vivekananda College conducted a Poster

Making Competition for all the UG students. It was meant to showcase the inner creativity of the students and gave them a platform to compete against others in terms

of their art skills. Participants had to form a team of 3 (max.) and make a collage, painting, sketch or anything of their choice within 90 minutes. Fifteen teams turned up

for the competition among which 7 were from B.Sc and the rest from BBA, B.COM and BCA.

Jump In Jump Out with Music:

On the 1st July 2017, PSCIFE club had conducted „Jump in Jump out with Music’, the

first event for the year. Event was exclusively for the fresher‟s of the physical sciences. It was a fun event which had many twists and turns with enthusiastic participants,

cheering crowd and foot tapping music. About 150 students participated and had gone

through various rounds of the event and finally the winners are
