dreams, and the many things we have heard or read since the timeDo you remember your first day of school? Do you recall the time you met your best friend? Do you remember the Last time you saw your grandfather? Of course, you do. 21High-frequency warming sounds, like a smoke alarm, on the other hand, warn you to seek, they actually produce a signal in our brain to open our eyes and ears and turn our heads.Low frequency warming sounds, like a cough, cause us to freeze, that is, to stop and not approach further. They actually produce a freeze reflex in our stomach and our legs. So when a car beeps its horn, pedestrians look out and stop crossing the street. We respond to the sounds very naturally without thinking. Our natural response to warning sounds is a feeling of alarm. When we hear a warning sound, like a dog growling or a burglar alarm, We have an instinctive, physical response.Which was exactly the year that I graduated and now get this he suddenly asks me, This is weird, but You know, I used to see you there- I bet you didn’t know that, did you? andI just kind of freaked out, like what a coincidence! So, we sort of thought, you now, wow

TRACK 6 1. The caller is complaining about service for the company, not

from your personally so don`t take any complaint as a personal attack on you

2. What exactly happened? When did it happen? Where were you? What exactly did the person say to you? And so on. Third and this should be obvious don`t sound like you are blaming the costumer for any mistake or error

3. “If I were in that situation, I would be angry too” or “I am really sorry you are had this problem”. Sometimes just this step alonewill help them feel better.

4. And seventh, don`t give them advice. Don`t say, “you should do this or you should do that” Instead give the costumers theiroptions. Say something like, “In these situations, here are you options. You can do this.

5. And finally, eight at the end of each call, be sure to use the

Page 16: Prueba de Ingles 4

costumers name thank the costumer for calling. You know you can say something like, “Ms jones, I appreciate your calling and thank you for your patience”

TRACK 14 1. We respond to the sound very naturally without thinking our

natural response to warning sounds is a feeling of “alarm”. When we hear a warning sound like a dog growling or a burglar alarm we have on instinctivephysical response

2. Low frequency warning sound like a cough, cause us to “freeze” that is, to stop and not approach further they actually producea “freeze” reflex in our stomach and our legs. So when a car beeps its horn, pedestrians look out and stop crossing the street.

3. High frequency warning sounds like a smoke alarm, on the other hand, warm you to “seek”. They actually produce a signalin our brain to open our eyes and ears and turn our heads.

4. When you hear the siren of n ambulance; you try to see where the ambulance is coming from. And if you hear someone scream, it is natural to look for the person in distress to see if you can help

5. So these are the two kinds of warning sounds you hear around you next time you hear a warming sound, pay attention to your reflexes and notice how your body naturally reacts to these sounds.

TRACK 17

TRACK 19 1. Do you remember your first day school? Do you recall the

time you met your best friend? Do you remember the lost time you saw your grandfather? Of course you do.

2. Then years later, when we remember something we just replay the tape and presto our memories of those events are perfectly clear. All the sights sounds and so on are replayed accurately

3. No instead our memories are combination of several mental processes our memories are constructed out of images from the original event plus our emotions beliefs imagination dreams and the many things we have heard or read since the time.

4. And our memories unlike video recording chance over time. They are not the same from day to day or year to year because the connections in our brain change constantly.

5. When you are talking to one of your parents at home, you will remember something one way if you are talking with a close friend at school you will remember it differently.

And he said the tape was definitely edited. Tony: But I don't get it. Who's behind this? Talia: One of Nick's teammates, Dean Bishop. He resents being in Nick's shadow. He wants to be the only star on the team. Tony: Of course! The bottom line is . . . being the star is worth a lot of money in endorsements. Talia: Still. I can't imagine . . . Tony: OK. So, now, what's your plan? Talia: I have an idea. I need some help from Amy. Tony: Fine. You can have another day on this and we won't run the story yet. But one more thing, Talia, I hope you're not emotionally involved in this story. Talia: Me? Emotionally involved? Tony: I know you want to clear Nick's name. Maybe a year ago, even. Amy: Oh. Too bad. Patty: Her brother Dean, the soccer player, works out here, though. I remember seeing him yesterday, around lunchtime. Maybe you could speak to him. Amy: Actually, I'd rather avoid seeing him. It's a little complicated between him and me, if you know what I mean. Patty: Oh, I see. Well, here's an idea. I think Jackie's taking acting classes over at the university. Maybe you could catch up with her there. Amy: She's taking acting classes at the university? Patty: Mmm-hmm. Amy: Ah . . . Yes . . . That's a great idea. Thanks for the tip. Patty: Oh, likewise! Thanks!

TRACK 9So you want to register for classes this semester? OK. Here's what you'll need to do. Since you're a full-time student, you first need to go to the Administration Building and go to the Student Accounting Office. At the Student Accounting Office, go to the "undergraduate student accounts" window and show them your student ID. They'll verify that your tuition and fees are up-to-date and give you a green "clear" form. That means that your account is clear. That's what you've got to do first. Next, take the "clear" form to the Student Union Building and go to Student Advising. Ask to see a course advisor . . . show your "clear form" to the course advisor . . . and then he or she will look up your intake form and give you a pink printout of classes that you're eligible for. That pink form is called your "A list," that means your authorized list, or classes that you're authorized to take. OK? You can only register for the classes on your "A list." Then you need to go to the Dixon Building and go to Registration with your green "clear" form and your pink "A list." Then sit down at one of the computers, log on, enter your Student ID number, and follow the onscreen directions. OK? And by the way, you might want to hurry. A few thousand students will be registering for classes this week.
