The MBA curriculum is designed to enrich both theoretical and practical knowledge in management while helping them to enhance the depth and breadth of their managerial capabilities. Diploma in Management (DipM)&PostGraduateDiploma in Management (PGDM) programs are the part of KUSOMs continuing executive education initiatives. The focus of these programs is on developing foundation and core management competencies. They are particularly designed for those practicing managers who have had no formal management education and also for those fresh graduates from non-management and technical disciplines who want to be entrepreneurs or start career in their profession that entails management responsibility.

DipMandPGDMarepractice-orientedandindustry-relevant management education programs of high disciplinary rigor that equip participants with substantial grounding in professional knowledge in management while enriching practical management competence for improved managerial performance. The overall purpose of the two interlinked programs is to enhance professionalism in management of organization by:

DipM/ PGDM Program Structure
The programs are offered as a two tier system of stand-alone as well as integrated package. At the foundation level, Diploma in Management (DipM) is offered, and at the advancedlevel,PostGraduateDiplomainManagement(PGDM) is available. DipM is both a stand-alone and an integrated study program. As a stand alone program, DipM offers participants an option to terminate their study program after its completion in which case they will get a certificate of DipM from the School. As an integrated package, DipM is the foundation for PGDM. Those who meet requirements for post graduate diploma level may continue and after completion of the requirements will get a certificate of PGDM from the University.
Diploma in Management (DipM)
DipM provides a broad-based, practical introduction to the key management ideas, techniques, and overall competencies needed in order to manage effectively and productively in enterprises. It is a one trimester program stretched over 14 weeks (three and a half months). Participantsarerequiredtotakeatotalof10credithourscourse load comprising foundation management courses. Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)
PGDM is an advance study program that builds on and extends the learning contents and experience of the DipM program. It is an intensive one year study program spread overthreetrimestersof14weekseach.Participantsarerequired to take a total course load of 28 credit hours that includes foundation courses (offered in DipM), core management courses, and an integrative project work. CreditsearnedinthePGDMprogramaretransferabletoExecutive MBA program of the School as decided by the Dean.

For DipM: Three years of work experience as a practicing
manager or supervisor or an entrepreneur with three years business experience, and
A bachelor degree of at least two years duration in any discipline from universities recognized by Kathmandu University.

Blending of Academic Excellence and Practical Experience KUSOM has a pool of core, full-time faculty with long teaching experience and expertise in various fields of management as well as considerable industry experience. The faculty members are regularly involved in research and training, and serve as consultants to organizations in industry, government, and non-government sectors.
KUSOM retains the services of senior visiting faculties from industry to bring in real life and practical experience and perspective in the process of learning. About one-third of the total sessions are handled by visiting management practitioners.

Financial Assistance
With a view to setting best qualified students, regardless of their financial status, KUSOM provides financial assistance in the form of tuition waiver to needy and deserving students. Students seeking such financial assistance must be accepted for admission into the KUSOM program. KU provides financial aid equivalent to 7% of total number of students.
