    Sanskaar Rang Toli

    Repertory Company

The National School o Drama provides a three-year

course o integrated training, leading to a post-graduate

Diploma in Dramatics. Since the training involves intensive

grounding and personal attention to each student, the

annual intake is restricted to 26 students only. This means

that a vast majority o theatre workers who are keen on

learning the dramatic arts are deprived o the training

provided by the School. In order to reach out to these

workers and create theatre awareness in India, in 1978

the School started a scheme o short-term teaching and

training to be imparted in the local languages. Over the

last thrity years and more, the School has conducted such

training workshops in almost all the regions o the country.

In addition, it has also organised and conducted a large

number o intensive, production-oriented and subject-

oriented workshops. To urther strengthen the Extension

Programme, it was decided to set up Regional Resource

Centres in our to six zones o the country. The rst o these

centres was set up in Bengaluru in 1994. It covers the South

Indian states o Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and
