    Overview

The strategic reasons for designing a project of fitness centre "FitForma" boils down due to

the facts that there are millions of people worldwide who actually hit the gym every day to

exercise and maintain their physical fitness or just to relax. This growing trend is an

advantage especially if we consider the idea of starting a health and fitness business. The

fitness industry continues to be a lucrative market opportunity for small businesses and

entrepreneurs. Furthermore, obesity is a health issue of epidemic proportion. No matter the

economy, people need solutions to their health and weight problems. Even in the worst of

economies, gym memberships remain consistent. With the number of people consciously

aware that they need to flex and stretch their muscles regularly, investing and starting

a fitness business is surely a good idea.

While the fitness industry in Pozna, city in Poland where we locate our centre, might seem

saturated by dozens of smaller players, we are planning to offer a different concept

attractive for the market. We will design a project for a gym complex that offers

complementary services like kindergarten, sport shop, swimming pool and SPA. We will also

offer a more diverse class schedules, adjusted work schedules, special discounts for couples,

students and seniors and one-week free passes to new clients in order to offer a more

unique solutions and to approach to the fitness lovers, thereby attracting avoiders of

mainstream gyms (i.e. young families that do not have where to leave kids during the

    workout or people etc.).

This is why we want to open a fitness centre "FitForma in Winogrady area, Pozna. With

high quality standards and focusing in a low-cost and medium cost policy, it will be designed

to satisfy needs of three specific demographic groups: students, couples and young families.

Having in mind that defining a strategically good location to install a fitness centre is crucial,

our criterion are based on these requirements: ensure that we have a location that is

accessible for people who want to exercise and use gym equipment; convenience; easy

access through different means of transport including cars, trams and buses; available free

parking places; attractive and safe surroundings with high people flow rate; mediate level of

traffic; and be sure that this location seems attractive to our target groups.

According to our market research, in the nearest neighbourhood there is no complex fitness

centre where people can keep their body fit every day. Our main strategic decision is to

open "FitForma" near one of university campuses in Pozna. Moreover, Pozna is one of the

four largest academic centres in Poland with about 28 universities (public and private). The

number of students in the city of Pozna is about 140 thousand. Every one of four

inhabitants in Pozna is a student. Due to fact that, students and young people are among

those who frequent gym health clubs and they are potentially good clients.

Our new centre, with an area of 3000m2 around divided in three floors, would offer

a broader range of facilities like gym, fitness studios, swimming pool, SPA, coffee shop,

relaxing area and a place where we will take care of our clients kids while they workout.
