WHO’S WHOWhile signed to Sony Music in the nineties, Neil’s album releases garnered him multiple Juno nominations. In 2009 Neil was asked by famed foreign correspondent Arthur Kent to voice a song for Afghanistan in an effort to improve conditions and awareness in the war torn country, to which he gladly consented. More recently, his vocal performance on “Love To Live In Toronto” earned the top prize in a competition that featured more than five hundred entrants.

Current projects include ongoing pop concerts with symphony orchestras throughout the U.S and Canada, and lead vocals with the groups “Brass Transit” and “You Can Close Your Eyes”, which perform musical retrospectives of the songs of Chicago and James Taylor, respectively. Neil continues to be in high demand, not only for his abilities as a singer but also for his skillful expertise as both a producer and arranger.

DAVID BLAMIRES (Lead Vocals) David Blamires was born in Yorkshire, England but grew up in London, Ontario, Canada. David got his start in music as a very busy session vocalist in Toronto, singing on thousands of jingles, album recordings, and soundtracks. As a member of the U.S.-based Pat Metheny Group from 1986-,

1997, he appeared on three Grammy Award-winning albums and performed for multitudes of fans all over the world. During this time he also recorded and released his own self-titled contemporary jazz album, “The David Blamires Group”, throughout the U.S. and Canada.

In 1997, David and his family moved from Toronto to Chicago, where he began working as a staff composer for a very successful music and audio production company. David writes and records music for TV and radio commercials, for clients such as American Airlines, Coors, Proctor & Gamble, McDonald’s, Kraft, and many more.

David performs regularly around the Chicago area, both as a solo artist and as a guest vocalist with “Tributosaurus”, a phenomenally successful tribute/cover band. David is the father of an AAA hockey-playing daughter, and is consequently never home and always broke.

JEFF CHRISTMAS (Conductor) Jeff is a Canadian-based composer, arranger, conductor, drummer, percussionist and trumpeter. He studied at York University, Toronto, the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, and Berklee College of Music, Boston, where he majored in Film Scoring and Composition. He has

performed with several symphony orchestras across North America, as well as appearing internationally with such notable artists as Denny Doherty, The Rankin Sisters, Ashley McIsaac, J.P. Cormier, and Michael Burgess. He recently conducted a tour with Roger Hodgson (Supertramp). He was musical director/arranger for the Opening of the MTS Center in Winnipeg where he conducted the WSO and guest artists Randy Bachman, Burton Cummings, Tom Cochrane and Chantal Kreviazuk. His musical theatre experience includes productions at the Grand Theatre London, Huron Country Playhouse, and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, as well as a four-month position with Chandris Fantasy Cruise Lines based in the Caribbean. His jazz performances include collaborations with Sam Noto, Phil Nimmons, Al Kay, Jeff Stout, George Zonce, Duncan Hopkins, Mike Murley, Kevin Turcotte, Jerry Johnson, and Guido Basso.

During his tenure as composer in residence with Orchestra London, he wrote several major compositions including Algoma, a tone poem for orchestra, and Concerto for English Horn. Jeff has worked with Amy Sky, Marc Jordan, Lorraine Segato (The Parachute Club), Alan Frew (Glass Tiger), Rik Emmett (Triumph) Brian Vollmer (Helix), Lawrence Gowan, Jim Witter, Thomas Wade and The Spoons.

Jeff’s original compositions for a wide variety of ensembles are in demand internationally. His music for the Opening Ceremonies of the Canada Games premiered on national television in the summer of 2001. Jeff has worked on various feature films and television programs with credits including High Point Casinos (Global TV), National Aboriginal Achievement Awards (CBC) and “Chatroom” (HBO, BET). His most recent commissions include Bluewater Portrait for solo oboe and orchestra, and Canadian Voyage, a five-movement suite for french horn and orchestra.

NEIL DONELL (Lead Vocals) “You blew me away!” These were the words internationally renowned writer-producer David Foster spoke after hearing Neil Donell sing for the first time at Toronto’s legendary Blue Note club. High praise indeed, yet such accolades are not uncommon for the singer/songwriter, who moved from

Montreal to emerge on Toronto’s music scene in the eighties. Since then, Neil has come to prominence for his extreme vocal versatility, gift for mimicry and four-octave vocal range. This combination of attributes has made him the “go to” voice for more than ten thousand recording sessions, in virtually every medium where music is an integral component. He has been referred to in the media as “the most recorded voice in the country.” He has lent his voice to the albums of many other artists: Anne Murray, Triumph, Rush; the list goes on and on.

KATHRYN ROSE (Lead Vocals) As a singer songwriter, “Canada’s original bombshell” Kathryn Rose is known for her artful, cerebral brand of sexy/sad/funny cinematic pop. Her latest release, Something I Can Use (2010), is a compilation of favorites from her three previous solo albums, with new, live and reworked tracks,

available at her website and on iTunes. Kathryn’s reputation also precedes her as one of the country’s top “go-to” voices, having sung on well-over 60 albums of other artists. Some of her live and studio appearances include work with Barenaked Ladies, Kevin Breit, Oliver Schroer, Patti Labelle, Sir Tom Jones, Stephan Moccio, Ron Sexsmith, Anne Murray, Martin Fry (ABC), The Spoons, Susan Aglukark, Esthero, Sarah MacLachlan and many more.

WHO’S WHOKathryn has sung on countless soundtracks and jingles. She provided vocals for the TV shows Battle Of The Blades and the last two seasons of Canadian Idol as a backup singer in the live band. Her own songs have been placed in film and television, and have been covered by Melanie Doane and Slean Slean, both with the acclaimed Art Of Time Ensemble.

Kathryn was also a successful actress in film, TV and stage until she left that world for music in her mid-twenties. Currently this longtime core artist with Jeans ‘n Classics is balancing her solo music career, sitting on the Board of CIRAA (Canadian Independent Recording Artists’ Association), finding time to play prestigious events in her trio side project with jazz star Emilie-Claire Barlow and Juno winner Melanie Doane, and laughing everyday at the antics of her young daughter and son. www.kathrynrose.com

KATALIN KISS (Backing Vocals) Katalin is known in the Canadian music industry for her staggering, tear the roof off, goosebump-inducing vocals. In her travels she’s worked with many legends: Del Shannon, Chubby Checker, Chuck Berry, and Chaka Khan. A much respected member of the Jeans ‘n

Classics family, Katalin lives in Picton, Ontario with her bassist husband and kids X3. They have their own recording studio and have just begun renting a vacation cottage on their property in “beautiful Prince Edward County” over the summer months.

PETER BRENNAN (Guitar, Jeans ‘n Classics Founder) Born in England, Peter moved to Canada as a child. Growing up he was heavily influenced by the Beatles initially, however the love affair with all things musical continued and grew to include everything from Jimi Hendrix to Gilbert and Sullivan. Peter studied music

formally for a time, but ultimately the lure of a traveling rock band won out. During the ‘70s and ‘80s he toured extensively throughout North America, establishing himself as a guitarist and Music Director with a variety of groups. He also became an in demand producer/arranger with top ten successes in the UK, producer awards and grants in Canada, and was selected as a Juno judge.

LIS SODERBERG (Backing Vocals) Lis Soderberg is a longstanding core member of Jeans ’n Classics. An award-winning songwriter, singer and voice actor, she continues to record and perform solo in addition to her work with Canadian and international artists. She is heard frequently on TV & radio commercials,

and is also the voice welcoming you aboard Air Canada. Lis lives in Toronto with her husband Brent Barkman and two daughters, Cole and Ellis. Her new solo CD “Refuge” (2010) is available online at iTunes and at other retailers, as well as on her website: www.lissoderberg.com

Peter has always loved the sound of a rock band with an orchestra. In the early ‘90s this dream became a reality for him with the establishment of Jeans ’n Classics. What began as seven scared people assembled for a one-off concert experiment with an equally nervous orchestra, has grown into an ensemble of twenty-nine people presenting forty-five different pop/rock productions with over eighty orchestras worldwide, to some two hundred thousand people annually.

The J&C family features some of the finest vocalists and instrumentalists in Canada and the US. It also boasts a number of headliners of worldwide note, including Roger Hodgson (formerly of Supertramp) and Martin Fry of ABC.While there have been and continue to be magnificent concert and orchestral experiences with Jeans ’n Classics, certainly the April 2009 concert with ABC at The Royal Albert Hall in London, England stands out.

On the home front Peter recently received the Mayor’s Award for the Arts in London, Ontario where he resides, and was named to the University Of Western Ontario, Faculty Of Music “Wall Of Fame” in Sept. 2010.

DON PAULTON (Keyboard) Don returns for his 17th season with Jeans ‘n Classics. As a longtime member of Canadian super-group “Lighthouse” he was inducted into the Canadian Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. He’s worked with five Juno award-winners and has performed with such acts as Chuck Berry, Aretha Franklin,

The Byrds, Peter Noone (Herman’s Hermits), Del Shannon, Ben E. King, Leslie Gore and the Platters. Don toured extensively with the hit theatre production, “A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline” (officially endorsed by Patsy Cline’s husband), mastering the piano styles of Floyd Kramer, and has appeared with symphony orchestras across North America as a much valued member of the Jeans ‘n Classics band.

PAUL DELONG (Drummer) Best known for his multi-platinum success with rock artist Kim Mitchell, Paul has forged a career which encompasses Funk, Fusion, Jazz and Latin, working with such diverse artists as Tom Scott, Domenic Troiano, David Blamires, Lawrence Gowan, Carlos Del Junco, Carol Welsman, Dave Restivo,, Nick

“Brownman” Ali, Colm Wilkinson, Doug Riley, Hilario Duran, David Clayton Thomas, Roger Hodgson and The Canadian Tenors, to name a few. As a Juno Award winner and respected session player, Paul has performed at P.I.T. and the N.A.M.M. shows in L.A., twice at the Montreal Drumfest, and at the Cape Breton Drumfest. He is one of SABIAN Cymbals’ most popular and effective clinicians.

Paul has taught part-time at Humber College in Toronto for the past 24 years and has written several articles for Modern Drummer magazine. He also taught and performed at KOSA 2010. His book “DeLong Way To Polyrhythmic Creativity On The Drumset” is now being distributed worldwide by Hudson Ltd.
