Setting Up a Family CouncilTBA This session will offer a comprehensive frame-work to effectively host family council meet-ings. Research indicates that implementation of regular family meetings is one of the three most important steps that business-owning families can take to ensure the continuity of the family business. Learn how to use the key components of conducting a safe family council by encouraging honest participation, active listening, and no judgment calls. When seeking preservation of the family and the business, family councils are an effective way to plan for the future, promote family values and engage and prepare the next generation for the success of the business livelihood.

The main focus will be to give an overview of the 12 steps of succession planning and provide materials and templates what will enable business owners to confidently begin, develop, implement and review the succession planning process.

Setting Up an Advisory BoardThursday, January 27, 2011 7:30 – 9:00 am Professional advisors can be one of your company’s biggest assets to growth and success of your business, your family and your health. Baby boomers are redefining retirement and learning the importance of retiring TO something, not FROM something. Understand the phases; prepare yourself for the many decisions to come and the impor-tance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Stewardship, Philanthropy and Setting up a Family FoundationMarch 24, 2011 – 7:30 – 9:00 a.m.

“Philanthropy” may best be defined as, “private initiatives for public good, focusing on quality of life.” Communities that thrive have been fortunate to enjoy the foresight of the forefathers. We all want to make a difference to our communities, our countries and our world. Find out the advantages to setting up your own foundation, or investing in a ready-made foundation, to meet your vision of improvement andaccomplishment.
