The Rockwell Automation PlantPAx® distributed control system (DCS) combines the plant-wide control technologies and unmatched scalability of Integrated Architecture™ with all the core capabilities expected in a world-class DCS. In partnership with Endress + Hauser, Rockwell Automation offers customers the opportunity to experience PlantPAx in a hands-on environment at process training units (PTU).

PTUs are full scale, working process skids with on-line instrumentation and controls. The “mini process plants” utilize Endress+Hauser instrumentation and the PlantPAx® distributed control system. The simulated environment allows customers the ability to see the operations, diagnostics and troubleshooting that occurs in real processing plants.

What’s in a Process Training Unit? Process Control RoomThe mock process control room allows customers to see the PlantPAx library in action. Visitors can log in as different users to see the variance in role based capabilities and see how the built-in diagnostics can reduce engineering and downtime.

Full Redundancy and High Availability Controller PanelThe PTU uses redundant I/O, redundant controllers, redundant HMI servers and redundant networking. Users can troubleshoot, edit, and fix the system without stopping operations.

Industrial Data CenterIndustrial data center with remote touchscreen operator stations combines equipment from industry leaders that are pre-configured specifically for the manufacturing and production industries.

IntelliCenter Motor Control CenterThe mini-process plant incorporates intelligent motor control centers (MCCs) as native components to enable easy integration. Customers can use remote monitoring to see real-time diagnostics and documentation.

Preferred Municipal System Integrator Training

Start-up/Commissioning Basics

Endress+Hauser is offering a condensed 3 day basic Service oriented training for Preferred Municipal System Intergration partners. This course would be limited to the basics for startup and commissioning of Endress+Hauser devices.

Technologies Covered On day one, flow technology will be covered. This will focus on magmeters, electromagnetic flowmeters, ultrasonic flowmeters and thermal mass flowmeters. The second day will cover level technology. This will concentrate on ultrasonic flowmeters, radar, and pressure technology for level products. It will also cover hydrostatic technology for level products. On day 3, basic analytical products for pH, conductivity, DO, chlorine and turbidity will be covered.

Certification Participants all receive a Preferred Municipal System Integrator Certificate of completion for attending and 24 Professional Development Hours. While this is not the Authorized Serviced Provider (ASP) service training, we use the same equipment we normally use for our ASP training. Currently, this course will only be offered in Greenwood. This course also allows for the potential to earn additional Endress+Hauser Service business, as a result of your increased capabilities.
