We have over 20 years of private equity investing experience and have a demonstrated ability to successfully deploy significant capital over a number of market cycles. We often target out-of-favor sectors and leverage the knowledge base across our real assets and related operating platforms to source proprietary transactions and develop underwriting theses.

We seek to invest in high quality assets in industries where we believe we have a competitive or informational advantage. Target opportunities include investments in businesses that are low cost producers or benefit from

high barriers to entry, and in many cases have tangible underlying assets. Our contrarian approach to investing looks to utilize Brookfield’s strength in distressed investing and restructurings.

Post-acquisition, we seek to deploy an active management approach focused on strategic, operational and/or financial improvements.

We have more than three decades of experience directly owning, managing and financing agricultural land in Brazil, as well as timberlands and paper and forest product companies in North and South America.

Our agriculture portfolio is comprised of approximately 600,000 acres of agricultural land in Brazil, producing crops such as sugarcane, soybeans, corn and sorghum. We believe that our agriculture operations have compelling investment characteristics, including high productivity levels, good climate conditions and logistics that combine for long-term value creation.

We are one of the largest timberlands investment managers globally by value and have a track record for sustainably managing our timberlands portfolio, which is comprised of approximately 3.7 million acres of timberlands. Our timber operations have a number of attractive attributes, including scarce, high-value premium assets, a diversified product mix, well-established infrastructure, and easy market access, and these attributes, together with what we believe are favorable industry dynamics, provide for a high margin business with sustainable cash flows.
