Classroom Visit

I had the pleasure of teaching 6W for the morning session on Tuesday. Students built, collaborated, talked, designed, and created. They used wires, switches, joiners, circuits, batteries and bulbs to create working battery powered machines. The machines included a helicopter, a cat, ferris wheel, traffic light, hamster wheel, car, overhead projector, trip wire, air horn and a disco ball. My thanks to Mrs Evans for all her teaching of the unit Circuits and Switches in the lead up to the fun part I had with students. 6W was a delight.

Principal’s Report cont’d

Two cases of influenza have been diagnosed in students who attend our school. Influenza, or flu, is a highly contagious respiratory illness caused by the influenza virus. Symptoms include fever and chills; cough, sore throat, runny nose; muscle aches, headache and tiredness; nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Influenza viruses are mainly spread by droplets made when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It can also be spread through touching surfaces where infected droplets have landed. If you think your child may be experiencing some or any of these symptoms, please consult your local medical practitioner.

It has been a terrific start to the year and a great way to finish first term with our Easter celebrations. It was nice to see so many mums, dads and grandparents enjoying the festivities at school today. Students and parents have been busy making dioramas, costumes and hats for today’s Easter celebrations. I look forward to seeing these in the parade, as much as I enjoyed looking at the senior students’ dioramas. I wish you all a safe and happy Easter break and I look forward to seeing students return on Tuesday 30 April 2019. Jason Wilkins Deputy Principal

School Security - A Community Responsibility

Summer Uniform to Commence Term 2

During the school holidays please keep your eye out for any sign of vandalism or inap-propriate behaviour in the school grounds. If you notice anything suspicious please ring the security hotline on 1300 880 021 or Sutherland police on 9542 0899. Your support continues to protect our valuable assets.

Students are to wear their full summer uniform when they return to commence Term 2. It is a good idea to send students with their school jacket or jumper for those cooler autumn mornings. As winter approaches and the weather becomes cooler, we will advise when winter uniform may be worn. Please see uniform requirements listed below.
