Lesson 4- Pop art design Andy Warhol was an American artist who became a leading artist in the 1960’s for his involvement in pop art. Pop artists felt that they should reflect modern life. So they made art inspired by the world around them- from movies, advertising and pop music, to comic books and even product packaging! Task one: Research Andy Warhol and some of his artwork, you can find out about some of his most famous pieces of art or some information about his life. Or even some fun facts if you want to! Make your notes in the space below . Task two: Creating your own piece of artwork. Andy Warhol liked the idea of taking items of food such as banana’s or soup cans and turning them into art! One of his most famous pieces was a picture of a Campbell’s soup can! Using some A4 paper, I would like you to have a go at designing your own soup can. It can be a real soup flavour or an imaginary one! You can draw and colour your soup can, or you can make it larger and use paints if you want to. It’s your design and entirely up to you what you would like to use!
