PLEASANT, Mich., Feb. 13, 2015 – The City Commission has decided to resume collection of refuse and recycling in most alleys. If you live adjacent to an alley, beginning March 2, place your refuse and recycling bin(s) in the alley for collection. Some alleys are exempt because they are privately owned, have dead ends, or a sharp 90-degree turn. You can view a full list of the exempt alleys below. If you live along one of the exempt alleys, please continue to place your refuse and recycling at the street curbside. Your collection date has not changed and a full list of exempt alleys and a map is included below. Exempt alleys The 1100 blocks of Pennsylvania, Bruce, Elm, Ward, Harold, Robert and Arthur streets, between Adams and Harris. 300-1000 blocks of N. Harris St.: residents should place refuse and recycling at the curbside on Harris Street. 1000 block of Park Street (dead end between Park and Pennsylvania) 300 block of N. Harris St., between Park and Pennsylvania 100 blocks of S. Arnold and S. Kinney, between Broadway and Michigan streets 100-200 blocks of S. Fancher and S. Kinney between Broadway and Illinois streets 600 blocks of S. Fancher and S. Kinney, between Maple and Cherry 200 block of E. High (alley between High and Cherry streets,Franklin and University - not City owned) 300-400 blocks of E. High and E. May, bordered by the 800-900 blocks of S. Franklin (alleys off Franklin Street side dead ends) 1000 blocks of S. Franklin and S. University, between Gaylord and Bellows 1000 blocks of S. Franklin and S. Lansing, between Gaylord and Bellows 100-200 blocks of N. Adams please place refuse and recycling on the Adams Street side. The alley behind these addresses running south from Park Street is not a City-owned alley. If you do not live adjacent to an alley, continue to place your refuse and recycling at the street curbside. MT. PLEASANT, Mich., Feb. 13, 2015 – The City Commission has decided to resume collection of refuse and recycling in most alleys. If you live adjacent to an alley, beginning March 2, place your refuse and recycling bin(s) in the alley for collection. Exempt alleys
