As most of you know, we officially launched our Build, Gather, Grow Capital Campaign at last weekend’s Masses. I am gratified by the many in our community who completed their commitment cards and brought them forward. I’m also grateful for the number of cards we’ve received in this week’s mail and I know that many are still thinking about the amount they want to commit. If you are a visitor to our parish let me tell you that we aren’t always about asking for money but our Facilities Committee said that we have a need to build a welcome center, do much needed restoration work in our Church and remodel the Egan Room kitchen. We are now in a campaign to raise the funds to make those recommendations happen so that our parish can be a viable, welcoming community for years to come. This weekend we will again have cards and pencils available for those we were not here last week and have not completed their commitment to the campaign. This is a SJA community effort and we will be updating you on the progress of our campaign shortly. As they say - watch this space for more news. I’ve said this before, I am so grateful to Paul and Lynn Hempe for their leadership of the capital campaign. They recruited a strong core committee – Jack Burbidge, Maureen Carlson, Elaine Hauff, Mike McCloskey and Ellen Velasco-Thompson – and they have spent countless hours in meetings, making phone calls and stuffing envelopes – among so many other tasks. This parish is strong because community members step forward in so many, many areas when work needs to be done. A lot of parishes don’t have that blessing. Thank you for all you do for our community in the giving of your time, treasure and talent. Presider: Fr. Jim DeBruycker Our pre-mass speaker this morning is Cathy Heying, founder and director of the Lift Garage (www.theliftgarage.org), a nonprofit organization providing low- cost car repair to people in poverty. Cathy's life is a witness to love of neigh- bor, and we are thrilled to welcome her! Welcome to our St. Joan of Arc Choir under the direction of Anna Vagle as they lead our sung prayer at this morn- ing's gym masses. Our own singer/ guitarist, Lee Vague joins the choir in a Joe Chouinard arrangement of the song Sing About It as we lift our voices in hope and love! Thank you as always! No Family Masses today. See you back in the church on Feb. 26 for our joyful family liturgies. The Sunday Morning Registration and Information Office is located in the Parish Center. In the office you may register to become a SJA parishioner, get program information, sign up for a program, and register to volunteer. The office is open after both of our Sunday morning liturgies.
