Temperature• Average temperature 66-75°F (19-24°C)• If temperature gets too high or low it can abort buds Lighting• It is important to shade orchids to prevent burning on foliage. Watering• It is suggested to water approximately once a week. • Soil should be dry before watering.

If not, then it is wise to wait an extra day before watering. Fertility• Orchids prefer a general feed such as 20-20-20. • It is suggested to use no city water and rely on rain water or reverse osmosis. • Phalaenopsis are sensitive to EC above 1. Ethylene• Phalaenopsis are Ethylene sensitive. It is critical to not use any gas operated

equipment in greenhouse. Tables• Phalaenopsis prefer to grow on open tables (wire bottom) for good air movement

Deflasking (*By delivery flask)• After arrival of the flasks remove the plants within one week out of the flasks.• Do not wash the roots, but just remove the agar by gently shaking.• Be careful not to break the roots.• Plant them in a mixture of, for example, 90% bark and 10% sphagnum.• Keep the plants very well shaded, not more light than 500 foot candle.
