Thy Kingdom Come Prayer (30 May - 9 June)
Heavenly Father, as we bring our prayers before you during these 11 days of prayer give to us
honest hearts as we bring you our thanks and confess our needs.
Lord God, the friend of sinners and those in need, your Son Jesus has untied our burdens and
healed our spirits. We lift before you all those whose hearts are burdened and those who seek
healing.
We pray for the nations of the world that justice, truth and mercy would govern the hearts of
those who lead, that all people would be led in true peace. Especially we pray for the leaders
of Great Britain – give wisdom to our politicians during this time of change.
We pray for our church and all of those who volunteer and give of their time to support all the
events that take place across our parish. We pray for the people who come through our doors
each week that they may find here a place of welcome in your name. We ask for your blessing
to be upon all who share their faith in practical ways by cleaning, preparing our churches for
worship, moving chairs, making coffee or offering a welcome. We pray for our clergy and
church leaders, that they may have wisdom and courage to seek to direct your church in the
right path.
God of mercy and healing, you who hear the cries of those in need, receive the petitions of
your people that all who are troubled may know peace, comfort and courage. Lord Jesus you
meet us in our suffering and supply our hearts with your strength when we call upon your
name. Amen Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation Psalm 68:19

St Peter’s Parish Weekend Away: 6-8 September 2019 @ Quinta Hall in Shropshire An opportunity to go away with oth- ers from St Peter’s and get to know them and God better!! There will be a full programme of activities for adults and children over the weekend. Brochures with booking forms are available; please return to the box in Church before the deadline of 30th June.
THY KINGDOM COME PRAYER :
30 May – 9 June (Ascension Day to Pente- cost). Join us to pray for individuals, our church and the wider community. There are prayer diaries for individuals and fami- lies to use during the 9 days, and a journal and prayer card available to pray for 5 peo- ple to come to faith in Christ. There are times for us to pray together: Barrow Bridge (Mon 3rd), 7-8 pm Smithills (Wed 5th), 4.30–5.30pm at St. Peter’s School, all age prayer time with child-friendly prayer stations St Peter ’s (Thurs 6th), 6-9 pm. Prayer stations in church; stay as long as you want during this time St Andrew’s (Fri 7th), 6.30-8 am Prayer Walk round the Parish; meet at Moss Bank Park, (Sat 8th) 10 am-12noon.
PARTY IN THE PARK 2019 Volunteers and donations needed
Could you join one of our volunteer teams? This event can only run with the sup-
port of all our fantastic volunteers. Our teams are: Saturday set-up (afternoon of
29th), Sunday morning set-up (between 7-10am), Café staff (an hour or more at
some point on the day), Stewarding (11-2pm, 1:30-4:30pm), Sunday pack-down (4-
7pm). To offer please fill in our online volunteer form using this link:

or bought), tea, coffee, juice, sugar, paper plates, cartons of long life milk, biscuits
and serviettes. You can leave any items in the box at St Peter’s

Join us NEXT Sunday, June 9th, at the 6.30pm service in St. Peter’s Church for a Pentecost Celebration. Our speaker is Chris Lane. He planted Lang- worthy Community Church, a pioneering missional church in inner city Salford, and he teaches at St Mellitus College, North West. Everyone is very welcome.

Wedding Invite: The wedding of Shaun Walch & Sarah Hargraves is taking place in St Peter’s Church on Saturday 8th June at 1pm. All are very welcome to attend this service so please do come along and share in this wonderful occasion if you are able to.
