1 Praise God for a dental patient who invited Christ into his life. Pray that he will find a church to support him in his new walk.

2 Pray for a parent of one of our Wonder Club (WC) students who is going through a difficult life experience with her older children. Praise that we are able to speak encouragement to her and offer some ideas of resources!

3 Praise God who is faithful and unchanging. It has been a joy to feel the cool breezes of fall and watch the beauty of the sky as reminders that He is in control.

4 Pray for the Finance Committee as they meet today.

5 Praise God for the food that has already been collected during our Rescue Mission Food Drive. Pray that God will continue to fill our pantries.

6 Pray for the father of a staff member who is dealing with significant health issues.

7 Praise God for a dental school that is donating a supply of new instruments to the Dental Clinic.

8 Pray that God will lead us, through our work, to bring about God’s glory and Kingdom.

9 Praise God for the opportunity to speak about Water Street in four churches last month.

10 Pray for the Maintenance Department as they care for our property. Pray that we would see problems before they become large ones.

12 Pray for the team at Water Street (WS) preparing for Extraordinary Give, Lancaster’s largest day of giving, on November 21. Last year the community donated $130,000 to help the homeless and this year we are praying to surpass that amount.

13 Praise God for our volunteers who work sharing food & clothing in our distribution center.

14 Pray for leadership as they make and carry out plans that will provide safety for our guests and staff.

15 Praise God for the enthusiasm of young children who love to worship the Creator both in the classrooms and our weekly chapels!

16 Pray that God will provide 2000 turkeys for our Thanksgiving food box distribution and our Great Thanksgiving Dinner.

17 Praise God for timely donations that come through for the clinic throughout the year.

18 Pray that God would send the right people to fill open positions at WS.

21 Today is Lancaster’s biggest day of giving through Extraordinary Give! Please pray for WS as our Mission is one organization people can donate to.

22 Pray for those who will be serving the community this week through the Thanksgiving food distribution and the serving of the Thanksgiving meal, that they will be encouraged through serving.

23 Pray for staff and volunteers who are busy preparing for our Great Thanksgiving Dinner which will be shared with the community.

24 Pray for churches and community partners as they support us and the changes in our programs.

25 Pray for clients who are estranged from their families during the holidays.

26 Pray for our community Thanksgiving food box distribution today. Pray that all would go well and community folks could see Jesus in all we do.

27 O Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God!

29 Praise God for our case workers and staff who direct clients to services that will help them become self-sufficient.

30 Pray for homeless veterans and their unique needs. Ten percent of our clients are veterans.

The fruit of your prayers

This month we kicked off our co-ed middle school program: “Link, Connecting Kids with Christ.” We had a blast with “Minute to Win It” games, boys against girls challenges, “Capture the Flag” and snacks….can’t forget the snacks! We transitioned into a devotional time which ended by asking if anyone wanted to respond to Jesus’ invitation to follow Him. My eyes were closed, but I heard a voice repeating the prayer to follow Jesus. Then three others joined in. We always rejoice when the young people commit to Jesus. We have the honor of leading many kids to the Lord. But this time there was an added thrill.

The son of one of my best friends was excited about finally being old enough to come to Teen Haven. I had watched him grow from babyhood on. His was that first voice praying, and giving three others the courage to join in the prayer, declaring their desire to follow Jesus. That I get to play a part in what God is doing in their lives is a wonder all its own, but witnessing God’s move in that particular boy’s life is like icing on the cake! The Lord is capturing the hearts of this generation and we rejoice in what He is doing. That is why your faithful prayers are so important.•
