    Materials

Explosive materials are a reactivesubstance that contains a great amount of

    Handling of Explosive Materials

Must be stored, transported, handled and used in themanner recommended by the manufacturer.

Explosive materials and accessories must not be

    abandoned.

Smoking is prohibited within minimum 15 m (50 ft) ofwhere explosives are stored.

Open flame ignition sources must not be permitted within

15 m (50 ft) of where explosives are stored.

All empty explosives containers must be disposed of byburning.

Containers of explosive residue, must be handled with care toprevent undue impact or exposure to excessive heat or

    flame.

Dont use sparking metal tools to open kegsof explosives.

Dont place explosives where they may be exposed to flame, excessive heat, sparks of impact.

Dont carry explosives in the pockets of your clothing on

    other person.

DONT handle, use or be near explosives during the approach

or progress of any electrical storm.

DONT use explosives equipment that are obviously

    deteriorated or damaged.

    Storage of Explosive Chemical

The location of storage areas should be spaced a minimum

    of 60 [meters].

Do store explosives in accordance with laws and regulations.

have good air circulation and free from moisture and keep itlocked even if not used.

should not be carried out near the building in which there is

oil, grease, gasoline, residual material can burn, open fire or

    flame

should be free of dry grass, garbage, or flammable materials.

    Waste Disposal of Explosive Materials

Disposal of explosives means their destruction, or rendering them

permanently explosively inert, , or their safe and legal transfer to a

    competent person.

There are five main methods for the safe disposal or destruction ofexplosives:

    Burning

    Photolysis

    Dissolving bya solvent

    Use activated

    carbon

    Chemical

    destruction

The effects of explosive materials can be divided

    into four groups, there are:

    First Aid For Explosion

First aid treatment for 2nd and 3rd degree burns :

Remove the victim from the fire, explosion, or heat source.

Remove any burning material from the victims body and/or the

affected area. Call 911 or activate the emergency response system in your

    area.

Once the victim is safely secured from additional harm, treat

the person for shock by keeping him or her warm.Try to wrap

the injured areas in a clean sheet if possible.

DO NOT use ice or cold water to treat the burn for the victim.

    Next ...

Treatment of minor burns (1st or 2nd degree in a small area of

    the body):

Gently clean and cool the wound with lukewarm water.

Do NOT use butter or oil to treat the burn.

Remove all rings, bracelets, and articles that may causefurther issues as swelling occurs.

Apply a topical antibiotic ointment like Neosporin to help

    treat the burn.

If the burn appears to be more severe than initially thoughtand you suspect 2nd or 3rd degree burn status, medical

    advice should be sought.

    Emergency Responses To Explosive

Materialsresponse steps upon discovery and determination of an

    unstable waste:

If the suspected container is too dangerous to move,

leave participant vehicle where it is and evacuate all

    occupants.

Evacuate the immediate area and provide a safety

radius of 300 feet away from the unstable waste.

Inform all nearby persons of the dangerous situation

    and the waste location.

  • 8/10/2019 Ppt Explosive

    19/20

    Next ....

Stable waste management If waste is stable enough to minimally handle, contain and

    segregate the items.

Waste that is new and sealed and in a relatively new

container may suggest the item is less dangerous. Some wastes may be wetted to minimize fire or explosive

    risks.

Do not store wastes in the sun or in a hot area, inside a

vehicle, or at any location where it may be disturbed.
