Casir dos Santos was born as a statement, a personal commitment, a pact: “We will produce the best wine possible and focus on every detail with the most passionate
dedication. To lead the way we have to see, understand, and do things which drive
and inspire us”. From each region the best grapes, in every step the best
technology available, all supported by a strong group of experts, highly committed
and greatly motived.
ABOUT US
Founded in 1862, Viña Maipú is one of the oldest wineries still operating today. With more that 100 years of history, the winery was selected to nurture our
project.
This is how Casir dos Santos was born. A winery which brings together a great
history and a team of people who continuously bring professionalism, creativity
and passion.
The winery was modernised, and equipped with “state of the art” technology, a
real example of science and technology placed at service of the most noble of
beverages to maintain its essence unpolluted.
UCO VALLEY (Valle de Uco)
It is the most important area in terms of style and quality of wines. Right at the
foot of the Andes (Pre-Cordillera), the Uco Valley has its own and very particular
microclimate, with a big temperature range, cooler weather and complexity in the
soils that result in very intense wines with their own personality and refinement.
Our land in Guatallary was planted with Cabernet Sauvignon 20 years ago. Its soil is
composed mainly of sand and rocks. The irrigation system uses melt water from the
Andes. The result are small grapes and low yields per hectare that lead to wines of
great concentration and mineral notes.
In San Carlos there is an old vineyard. They are 15 hectares of Malbec and Cabernet
Sauvignon, with 50 years old plants. This vineyards give high quality grapes. The
soils present a rocky middle stripe on it, that allows better drainage resulting on
high density of flavors.
The vineyard in Vistaflores is a dream. With its 20 years old, it is planted
exclusively with Malbec on soils with drainage that give a great mineral character
to wine.

1972. His love for making wine was
inculcated by his mother and

oenology, and he got his degree in
Bordeaux.
In France he worked in different
properties in Bordeaux like the well-

never left. In the same year he was
designated as main oenologist for
AltaVista where he still works as a
wine consultant. He also worked in
Chile as winemaker consultant for
Santa Rita among others.
In 2012 he joined the Casir dos
