CORPORATE EXECUTIVEOFFICERS

The new year has just begun, but Philippine Prudential isn’t about to lose momentum. Very soon we, the leader in innovation and growth, will be celebrating what is perhaps our most significant Company milestone yet—our 50th Anniversary!

In light of this forthcoming event, Philippine Prudential has been on a proverbial roll. Through twin branch openings for the Retail and Telemarketing Channels, the Company stamped its mark in the City of General Santos, with no less than Ms. Dionisia “Mommy D” Pacquiao and Vice Mayor Shirlyn Bañas-Nograles gracing the events. To further assure the public of the Company’s financial stability and strength, a two-month radio advertising campaign saw fruition, airing across major daily morning programs. Existing partnerships remain strong, while new ones continue to be forged with the aim of opening up more promising opportunities for the Company as we embark on our Golden Era of progress.

The success of these efforts must also be credited to the individuals who largely impact Philippine Prudential—that is, our valued Policyholders. As a gesture of gratitude and social involvement, clients were invited to participate in a special “build” effort at the Company’s GK – AMPAPP Village, concurrently commemorating the community’s first anniversary.

With pride and pleasure, we invite you to flip through this page-turning issue of PP Times. We hope that as you fondly look back at the year that has passed, you will also be filled with much excitement and optimism for all the great and golden things that lie ahead. May we always have the heart and passion to stay true to our commitment to protect the Filipino.

Happy New Year!

Philippine Prudential Unveils New Product

Philippine Prudential, the industry leader in innovation and growth, reinforces its commitment to protect the Filipino with the launch of its latest product, Easy Secure.

Easy Secure is the first limited-pay Life Insurance Product in the market to offer a total and permanent disability benefit for free, a value that other Life Insurance Companies provide only when the insured avails of a critical illness rider.

“We are very proud and excited to introduce Easy Secure to our valued stakeholders and the general public,” Philippine Prudential President and CEO Gregorio D. Mercado said. “Easy Secure is a welcome addition to Philippine Prudential’s growing line of products and services, all designed to provide risk protection to every Filipino and the people most important to him or her—the family.”

An individual covered by Easy Secure can apply for an advance amounting to 60% of the sum assured, or up to Php 1 Million (whichever is lower), provided he or she is diagnosed with total and permanent disability for no less than six (6) months. To the insured, this can mean a substantial amount that can go beyond paying for medical bills.

“A vast financial safety net is difficult to come by these days, especially in the face of untoward incidents,” Mr. Mercado added. “This is why our Company endeavors to constantly create products such as Easy Secure, which enables Filipinos to not only prepare against risks, but also to have a secondary source of funds.”

Loanable cash values are another product guarantee, along with the opportunity to earn from the Company’s surplus income through

dividends. In the case of death, beneficiaries can claim 100% of the sum assured, as well as dividends, should there be any.

“This product innovation will help set the pace for our Company’s product development as we head towards our 50th Year milestone in February,” Chief Distribution Officer Victor P. Quisumbing said. “We look forward to making Easy Secure available through our recently launched Agency Distribution Channel.”

EASY SECURE may be availed by people as young as 15 days up to 75 years old with 3 payment periods of single pay, 5-pay and 10-pay and convenient payment options to choose from—monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.

As part of Philippine Prudential’s mission to provide the best financial advice and diversified products to help protect the Filipino People, the Company recently celebrated a double knock-out launch and blessing of its two newest sales offices—a Telemarketing Sales Office and a Retail Marketing Sales Office—in the City of General Santos on October 19, 2012.

The Company’s twin celebration kicked off with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting by Company Executives who were joined by no less than Ms. Dionisia “Mommy D” Pacquiao, mother of Sarangani Congressman and renowned Filipino Boxer Manny Pacquiao, at the Ground Floor of JMP Building in Dadiangas Heights, where the new Telemarketing Sales Office is located. Shortly thereafter, Ms. Jinkee Pacquiao, Mommy D’s daughter-in-law and wife of Congressman Pacquiao, joined in to grace the branch’s blessing with her presence.

The above event was soon followed by the inaugural ceremony of the Retail Sales Office at the third floor of SM City General Santos. The City’s Vice Mayor Shirlyn Bañas-Nograles cut the ceremonial ribbon to formally open the Branch.

The dual celebration was capped by a grand dinner, which also served as a talent night for Philippine Prudential’s sales force as they performed their unique dance moves for the guests and Company officers. Mommy D also got to execute her famous ballroom dancing skills through three different numbers with accompanying costume changes, leaving everybody impressed and astounded.

With these two new Sales Offices, the Company remains committed to being accessible through its distribution channels across the nation. An even bigger expansion and growth is expected of Philippine Prudential in the coming year.

Philippine Prudential Hails New LIT Graduates

The second batch of the People Management & Development Team’s (PMD) Leadership-in-Training (LIT) Program recently received their Certificates of Completion at the Astoria Plaza Hotel in Ortigas. The graduation ceremony served to culminate three months of stringent and intensive training sessions meant to mold employees and agents with strong leadership potential.

PMD Manager David Silayan hosted the event, while Philippine Prudential President and CEO Gregorio D. Mercado proudly presented the deserving graduates with their respective certificates. Chief Distribution Officer Victor P. Quisumbing was also present to deliver the congratulatory toast.

Of the original 30 LIT enrollees from this batch—the second for the year 2012—only 15 were able to successfully complete the course, which is known for its strict “no-absence, no-tardiness” rule. Class Valedictorian Edgardo B. Rañeses, Telemarketing Agency Manager, commended his fellow graduates and acknowledged the Company Officers who lent their time and expertise to ensure the success of the program.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Mercado posed another challenge to the new graduates. “Now you must live up to your potential and prove that you are capable of being the kind of leader this Company believes you can be. As graduates of the LIT program, we expect that each of you will become the standard for leadership, and that others will look to you to as an exemplary professional.”

The LIT Program is only one of the several courses being offered under Philippine Prudential’s Dream Academy. Employees and agents alike may also enroll in such courses as communication, self-development and corporate social responsibility.

From 0 agents in June to 61 agents as of December 28, 2012, from Baguio and Makati-Alabang Sales Team, The Rise of Team AMO was nothing short of phenomenal. The first commission from this new agency team was turned over to Pastor Ramil Pastrana on November 16. This marks the first of many more milestones for Team AMO.

Meanwhile, Agency Training and Development (ATD) initiated the roll-out of training seminars for Agency Sales Team hopefuls, starting with the first Business Opportunity Presentation (BOP) and Agent’s Licensing Course (ALC) in August. The two-day ALC review is designed to help prepare recruits for the Insurance Commission (IC) or the Insurance Institute of Asia and the Pacific, Inc. (IIAP) examination. ATD then proceeded with a three-day Basic Sales Training (BST) seminar for sales advisors and managers in both Makati and Baguio, providing basic knowledge and skills through relevant discussions on salesmanship, product training and underwriting.

A soft launch for Agency’s flagship Sales Office in Baguio was held in December, with formal inaugurations taking place on January 18. Its banner products are Easy Secure, Easy Secure Gold and Easy Protect.

Raffles Office’s “Bruins” conquered the third season of the “Philippine Prudential Basketball Tournament,” an inter-branch competition, held at the Department of Agrarian Reform Gym in Quezon City on October 15, 2012. The Bruins bested the Season 2 defending champs Retail Fairview branch, with a score of 93-87 in the best of three affair.

It was an unexpected win for the team as it lagged behind early in the season. But even with an incomplete lineup, Raffles’ Bruins competed bravely with their eyes only on the prize. This only proves that in any kind of battle, teamwork coupled with devotion can overpower any shortcomings.
