    1. Text Boxes:

    i. Give boundaries to text boxes

    ii. Text heavy box use lighter background, light content use darker background

    iii. Be as consistent as possible

    iv. Ensure consistency in the size of the text boxes across slides as much as possible

    v. Make a single slide and duplicate it to ensure consistencycreate template

    vi. Ctrl+D duplicates a slide

    vii. Same font size headers especially

    viii. Consistency in bullets & heading styles- best way to do it is by copying the same text box

    for spacing between bullet and text use ruler

    Sub bullet- use tab

    To go backshift tab

    Use different bullet type for sub bullets

    2. Structure Flow

    i. Use active voice rather than passive voice should sound like we are talking about our

    own company. E.g.

    Passive voice USD 25mn will be invested by the company in the next 2 yrs

    Active voice The company will invest 25mn in next 2 yrs

    ii. Avoid full-stops at the end of text boxes3. Charts

    i. Create charts in ppt and not in excel- gives more clarity & file size is not heavy

    ii. Give border to charts and the title of the charts should be all same size

    iii. Separate chart title & Border provides flexibility for alignment

    iv. The size of the bars for 1 category should be proportional to each other. Axis across

    charts should be ensured to enable comparison. In 2 charts 25% and 50% should not

    have the same bar size

    Chose the max value in your axis from the 2 data sets

    v. Changing categories in reverse order

    click axis ->format axis - > categories in reverse order

    4. Formatting Tipsi. F2 will toggle between text & Text box

    ii. Whenever using bullet make it right aligned & not centre aligned

    iii. Shift & drag in one direction makes it go uni directional

    iv. Ctrl +Shift + drag always for copy & same alignment

    v. For bullet spacing across multiple text, select the ruler markers on original text box, go to

    other text boxes and press F4

    vi. F7 for spell check

    vii. Ctrl+shift+ = for superscript e.g. H2

    viii. Ctrl + = for subscript e.g. H2

    ix. Use gridlines for maintaining alignment across slides for text boxes etc

    x. Before sending the ppt, remove gridlines and send

    xi. Select all boxes together and go to formatting for making all the height & width of samesize by editing there rather than 1 text box at a time

    5. Best Practices

    i. Avoid inconsistent font size, case & word spacing

    ii. Use bold or different colored font to highlight rather than increasing /underlining the text

    iii. Dont use stack chart for multiple choice data which wont add to 100%

    iv. Create a broad level template and use ctrl+D to make modifications for the next slides

    v. Write in sentence case & not Title case

    vi. Get inspired by Smart Art rather than use it directly text heavy edits makes smart arts

    difficult
