The EverythingAboutWater International Exhibition & Conference on Water & Wastewater Management was organized at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (E), Mumbai during January 6-8, 2011. Inaugurated by renowned Chief Guests Mr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Managing Director Hiranandani Group; Piyush Goyal, Member of Parliament; Wolfgang Heuchel, Director- Asia Pacic, Lanxess and Dr. KK Nohria, Chairman of the National Board for Quality Promotion as the Guest of Honour, the show was an exceptional success for the eighth consecutive year. Organized by EA Water Pvt Ltd and Co-organized by Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the show had exceptional visitor footfall ensuring benecial interactions for exhibitors with a wide variety of potential business prospects. The Expo saw a strong international presence with as many as 25 countries exhibiting their water management solutions. As an augmentation, a novel concept of International Pavilions was introduced this year. There were four major international pavilions representing China, Taiwan and German & Bavarian players. Support from distinguished associations like VDMA, Taiwan Drinking Water Equipment Association and the Indo German Chamber of Commerce, took international presence in the Indian Water Market to new heights. As a proven platform for not only business to business but also business to government exchange, the exposition showcased latest developments available for water treatment, water conservation, irrigation, wastewater recycling & reuse and desalination that is crucial for sustained development. Stakeholders from government departments and funding agencies, C-level managers from the water industry, decision makers from the end- user industries as well as industry observers and experts interacted with each other making the event an excellent platform for networking and relationship building. Exhibitors identied the immense potential of the Indian Water Sector while the visitors were exposed to explore the various options available for water management. Training Workshop on Water Reuse & Recycle

January 6, 2011

Water reuse and recycling is gaining popularity as one the most economical and sustainable solutions to meet the rising water demands in the industrial & domestic segments. To help understand these methods we had Peter Cartwright, a globally acclaimed and well known water treatment consultant, give insights on the subject. During the workshop Mr. Cartwright focused on investigating the water sources, addressing quality characteristics and treatment technologies appropriate for industrial and municipal water use. The participants acquired knowledge on how to relate quality differences in the source water to treatment technology requirements and the effects of these technologies on the treated water. Reclaiming water to direct the operational plant towards Zero Liquid Discharge was also emphasized upon.

Training Workshop on Seawater RO Desalination Technologies

January 7, 2011Conducted by Satish Chilekar one of the most distinguished names in the Indian Water Industry, the workshop provided special emphasis on optimum system designing and operation of seawater RO desalination plants. Mr. Chilekar, an expert on desalination technologies, covered both thermal and membrane based technologies, latest concerns like energy recovery, boron reduction, brine disposal and pre-treatment challenges. The training workshop proved to be very benefi cial for consulting engineers, design and project managers and contracting companies.

January 8, 2011

During the workshop session on MBR & MBBR Technologies eminent consultant, Peter Cartwright, laid special emphasis on selection designing and operation of MBR and MBBR systems. Participants were exposed how the technology is environment friendly, energy effi cient

and other factors due to which it has gained immense popularity for sewage treatment and wastewater recycling applications. It was discussed that MBR and MBBR technologies used till date are still non-standard with different manufacturers using different confi guration benefi ts and design principles. The training workshop also imparted knowledge to the participants on how to design and engineer such systems. This also helped delegates to analyze project designs for adequacy and accuracy and plan better for future projects.

The Expo proved to be a useful platform for visitors to meet exhibitors of their interest. With the pre-arranged meetings visitors

made the most of their visit to the event. Product Launch Zone was a powerful platform for global manufacturers for displaying their new product ranges. Visitors attended technical demos and presentations on the new products and technologies in the industry. With its emphasis on all innovations in the water sector, the product launch zone registered high visitor footfall. Products from Gopani Product Systems, Watech RO System Pvt Ltd, Sigma Flow Controls India Ltd, Luminous Power Technologies Pvt Ltd, Utopia Membranes and PBS Water Tech Pvt Ltd were showcased at the zone.

Best Stall Awards

EverythingAboutWater came up with Best Stall Awards to boost and recognize the efforts of the exhibitors. Chemical Process Piping Pvt Ltd (CPP) was awarded the Best Stall Award in the Raw Space Category while UKL Instruments Pvt Ltd won the award for the Best Stall in the Built-Up Stall Category. Eminent jury comprised Dr. Peter Cartwright, International Expert on water and wastewater

treatment and technical consultant to the Canadian Water Quality Association. The concept/theme, overall appearance, space planning, branding and product display, Appeal were some of the major factors on the basis of which evaluation was done.

Visitor Pre-Registration

Special gifts for Pre-registered visitors at the 8th EverythingAboutWater Expo were a big hit. Their entry was facilitated through a separate booth for pre-registered visitors at the registration counter. All visitors who pre-registered with us were given a code which facilitated the management of the show and transformed it into a harmonized event.

Knowledge Blast

A Special activity “Knowledge Blast” was organized at the EAW stall. The special feature was that all visitors received EAW products at discounted rates. In addition to this, the lucky winners received free subscriptions as well.
